You can try again if you want but they he might just not be a good sire for wsps, I'm not sure yetIvy Stables wrote:*Sigh* Tarpan x DongolaZuka wrote: yep he is up.

The sire’s on the short side, so I might need to breed super tall tarpans so that they come out right in the middleZuka wrote:You can try again if you want but they he might just not be a good sire for wsps, I'm not sure yetIvy Stables wrote: *Sigh* Tarpan x Dongola

Re: Breeding western Sudan ponies
Yep that's true. I might have some taller studs soon, but it's a bit difficult to breed them because most high quality NABS seem to be in the 13.3-14hh range. Ping me again if you ever want to use him or a different stud!Ivy Stables wrote:The sire’s on the short side, so I might need to breed super tall tarpans so that they come out right in the middleZuka wrote: You can try again if you want but they he might just not be a good sire for wsps, I'm not sure yet

Re: Breeding western Sudan ponies
He's the best one there, since he has a 5/5 WSP eval, it's just that he's right at the min height, and so the mare needs to be at least 15 hh. I'm going to use some of those 20 hh Arab stallions and breed them pure, hopefuly that will raise the heightZuka wrote:Yep that's true. Hi, I think it would be faster and easier if I could studZuka wrote:you can stud one of my Dongolas if you would like:Ivy Stables wrote:Wednsday, December 16th, post #1
Hi, I’ve decided to breed western Sudan ponies and I’m using this so that every week (Or when something exciting happens) I can update here. So I once I get the accctual Western Sudan pony, there won’t be a very high bar set for me to get realistic ponies, because I think every website that wrote about them literally copied and pasted this off of Wikipedia:
The Western Sudan pony (also known as the Darfur pony, Gharkawi, and Kordofani) is a breed of pony that is found in southern Darfur and southwestern Kordofan in Sudan. It is usually light bay, chestnut or grey with white markings.
So, I just have to make them grey, bay and chestnut and do the rest with my creativity, easy enough. Sadly, I also need to breed the ponies, but even that seems surprisingly easy. The breed creation is Arab x dongola, and since Arabs are the most common breed in the game, all I need to do is find a dongola
If you have a dongla stud I could use, please link it here, since there are no dongolas on the market or up for stud. Anyways, the breeding recipe for dongolas is NAB x Russian don, and sine NABs are super common, and there’s like 10 billion (Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration) free Russian don studs on the marke that shouldn’t be to hard
. Anyways, I’ll report back later, and once I get a dongla, there will be a vote on the discipline they are bed to compete in, so yeah, bye

I also breed wsp's, so it's nice to see someone else taking interest

Several (6-15) times so that I would get a 50%, then an 80%, then a 95% then a 100%, and then breed again to get a colt and take my lines from there

Re: Breeding western Sudan ponies
You could try, but that would mean your line would get very inbred/high COI which is hard to fix. I'm fine with you studding him a few times, but I don't want to excessively breed him.Ivy Stables wrote:Hi, I think it would be faster and easier if I could studZuka wrote: you can stud one of my Dongolas if you would like:

Just somethings to think about.
(I'm sorry if this came off as rude, I really don't mean it that way, I just think it could have some bad effects long term because your line would have so little diversity

Re: Breeding western Sudan ponies
I don’t mind COI, since nothing goes wrong if you have high COI, and I like uniformity in my horsesZuka wrote:You could try, but that would mean your line would get very inbred/high COI which is hard to fix. I’ll try not to breed him too much, and usually this works quite wellIvy Stables wrote:I don’t mind COI, since nothing goes wrong if you have high COI, and I like uniformity in my horsesZuka wrote: You could try, but that would mean your line would get very inbred/high COI which is hard to fix. I once had 30 TB colts, all the same height, color, and with at lease 150% COI
