Energy Saver not Working?

Okay I had 1* in Energy Saver training.
I set up my horse, Oil Slick, to do the following Training:
Lunge on the Flat
Track
Gallop
30 Minutes
This would have taken 104% energy.
So I then went and trained up to 4* in Energy Saver.
I set him up in the same training, and now it takes 105% energy....

What's up with that?
