What color is my mare??

Post by Clamfurious »

Hi! I need some help y'all.

I bought this mare a while back, though when I bought it she was a palomino overo (I think). Now she's turning white though. Is she just a grey horse with overo markings or is she something else?

Thank you!

She appears to be LP and Palomino. this game only has Tobiano at the moment. You can also see she has spots in her patches pointing towards LP rather than Tobiano. Also yes, she has now Grayed out! Although, I am not 100% sure about a proper term for her base colour honestly!

I'm sorry.. what does LP mean? I'm quite new at this game and not that great at colors tbh.. or markings for that matter lol.

But thank you, never seen a palomino grey out before!

As far as I can tell, she only has Leopard and not tobiano at all. She is Greying Palomino Lp(1) with tigereye I believe. Some people would have a more specific name for her pattern, but I just call her single lp.

Thank you! I really appericiate it. I'm very confused when it comes to coloring.. it's a little bit embarrasing tbh. Though it's very complicated. Especially with all the cremellos, pearl etc.

Thank you for taking your time answering though!

I don't find it embarrasing at all! Coloring can be hard, and I still don't understand most of the genetics. Because of my position training leopard Tbs for a club and breeding them myself, I have gained a lot of knowledge when it comes to Lp complexes, mostly from BlackOak2. If you are ever confused or just want some cool knowledge, ping them and I'm sure they would be more than happy to answer your questions, goodness knows they've been very patient with me and my questions :D
