Stallions with LOTS of kids

Post by lessthanfish »

A curious thing I noticed was that on this game, since people are able to use multiple accounts to freeze horses, stallions can remain up for stud virtually indefinitely.

As such, you can get some with almost ridiculous numbers of offspring.
For example, I currently have two that have produced 95 foals. Now, I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or if 95 is the number where it stops counting.

So everyone, what's the most offspring you've seen out of a single stallion?

**ALSO
Do you think there's a point where it would be prudent to take down a frozen stallion with a bunch of kids, so to prevent inbreeding of his genetics in whatever breed?

Inbreeding is irrelevant and avoiding it is pointless.

I have studs who have dozens of active offspring, but any stud I have locked away has easily sired hundreds if not thousands of foals because I usually put an entire broodmare band of 36 mares to one stallion and rehome all but the absolute best.

Really?
I'm actually glad you mention that. Not worrying about inbreeding eliminates like 80% of my reservations about my current breeding program.

It also makes this forum post seem kind of silly lol

It has no ill effects at this point, and adding any is probably a very low priority.

Anyone that wants to breed true to real life breeds will be doing inbreeding in some form since most studbooks are closed and thus prevents new blood from ever entering the bloodlines, and then all that is left is inbreeding in some form.

Only way to avoid it is to breed crosses unless you plan to regularly take in foundation stock and that can be a daunting task unless you deal with a primitive breed (only possible in the game not in real life)
