Sooty? Pearl?
I thought he was a Silver Smoky Black Pearl first but changed my mind to Sooty Cream Champagne.
Like... is it sooty or black based? I'm guessing sooty.
Silver or flaxen? There is a possibility for flaxen if one look at the family-tree.
He have mottling on his muzzle, I can see them if I zoom in in the gallery... so he obviously have champagne. I don't think pearl can be seen together with only champagne?
So I'm still guessing 1 cream + 1 champagne + sooty + flaxen/silver? Or maybe even no flaxen and no silver just chestnut based with regular champagne/cream dilution.
Or something else?
Why is it so hard for me to learn the differences?

Re: Sooty? Pearl?
I'm not so sure about sooty. Sooty is often in patches and/or comes slow with aging. Look at his dam - born fiery red, darkening somewhere between 2 and 6 years, and still has bright legs.
This colt is only 2 years old. His coat looks very uniform and has barely changed shade. He looks like a (much) lighter version of his half-brother here:

who is a silver black.
Now, I'm not an expert on sooty, so he might still be some kind of sooty that I haven't seen until now. But if I had to guess, I would guess silver + black + champagne + additional dilution.
The intresting part is the "additional dilution" because he has light eyes. Now, cream + champagne gives dark eyes (look at his father). Adding silver does not change that. Double cream is impossible. So yes, you might have a pearl (+ cream).
What I'm most suprised over is how dark his coat is if my guess is right (cream + pearl + champagne). It pretty much requires (silver) black as base color.

I forgot to thank you. So, thank you ^^
I'm guessing he is Silver Smoky Black Pearl Champagne, but it's hard to know as I have not seen another horse with the same colour that I know of.

Today I realized that his light eye might be due to Tiger Eye instead (I got a chestnut+cream+champagne+tiger eye foal myself, and felt a bit dumb). This would eliminate the "need" for pearl.
Looking at his mane and tail, it is actually remarkably light. Much lighter than his father, who is also cream+champagne+silver. Maybe you were right to begin with, and he actually is a (dark) chestnut (+cream+champagne).
As comparison; the chestnut + cream + champagne + tiger eye filly.
Do they have the same eye color?
