Old horses

Post by Abbih »

Just putting this out there if anyone needs it. If you need to be rid of an older horse that can't be retired, I have a small retirement pasture I can house them on until they pass. My only requirement is that if it is a mare, she is not bred. Other than that, as long as the horse is sold cheaply, I can house him until he passes on. Preference will be given to older horses.

I have a few horses that are above 15 years old. How much are you offering?

This would be considered a 'service' not a 'purchase'.
Some of our HWO members offer this, especially on accounts that fast-grind or fast-train, because they have extra room and have no interest in using the horses themselves. It is a quick way of retiring horses and freeing-up room.

Most times, this service requires horses to be cheap or even free. I usually see market sweeps (clean-outs) on all horses over a certain age and under a certain amount (5000), heading for just this service.

I suspect such a service then to be under 5000 purchase price, with the assumption that the horses would not be used, just be retired out.

*Abbih, I hope you don't mind me answering in your stead. If you do, I apologize.
