Help! Which One
I have a new colt that seems well enough. problem is I already have a full blooded brother of his and need to know which would be better to keep. I've compaired them myself quite a bit and am leaning slightly toward the higher GP, but there are conformation points i prefer on the older brother. I greatly appreciate your time and help.

Re: Help! Which One
Take whoever strikes your fancy. Do you need an stud now, or would you rather have one that lives for a couple years longer? Do you breed for a specific new breed (in which case you should definitely take the one with better breed evaluation)? I'm not upgraded at the moment, so I cannot check their conformation, but if the difference is large you might want to take the older one.
GP is a handy number, but I generally try to not become too dependent on it. It is calculated on the horses stat genes (+ conformation), and horses with average stat comments can carry both hidden good genes and hidden bad genes, which later can be recombined in their offspring, changing GP drastically. Also, GP takes all skills into consideration, even those that might be irrelevant to your breeding goal.
Since they both have the same parents and similar BR (and almost similar GP), it is probably impossible to tell which one has the best genes unless you actually breed them to see what kind of foals they throw. If you have time/space you could take a couple of test foals of the older brother with a proven mare, and see how good he is, before you throw away any of them.
