Help Appreciated

Post by DestinoRidge »

Alright so I have 3 that I'm not positive with as far as color goes but for one of them I do have a guess!

OVOGoddess

This jug head I do believe is a perlino w/ a blanket? Her legs were much darker but lightened out as she aged but I'm not sure if she would qualify as a cremello

CaliforniaCommemoration

No idea what color she is

AdmirableCommemoration

He's clearly darker than his half sister and could maybe be palomino? But his muzzle has speckling?!

Help! :D :D 8-)

Yes, looks perlino. Although she's lighter than any perlino I've ever seen on here. I'm also quite sure she has Silver. She's beautiful. Maybe someone else can weigh in on her?

Silver amber champagne blanket + some snowflakes.

He's also silver amber champagne, just a lot darker. All of my palominos have truly white manes, so this kind of grey is usually Silver or varnishing.

Thank you! Perlino will be for sale once her foal drops, but that's a convo for another tab (; interesting how the siblings are the same color just totally different ends of the spectrum, thanks much!

Agreed. She's really light because she's muscular. Getting that metallic sheen on~ xD
And now we know that silver on perlino makes the mane sort of yellowish (seeing as this is the third one in a row we've looked at and they've all got that same look).

Also, <3 nyraeia.

Agreed. She's also lighter because she's already starting to varnish.

This is a side note: I also have to wonder if she's might have some mealy going on, but I have no idea what mealy looks like on an amber champagne so I'm not going to even try. I mean the mother might be a mealy palomino, but I can't even tell under all that varnish.

Or sooty on palomino, but that's not the case here. I agree with everything. :)

Thank you lovelies, usually I can go through tabs and get a pretty good idea of what the colors are but these three had me a little stumped especially the two girls.

Regarding the super lightness of OVO Goddess

Have you considered pangaré?
Also, varnishing.

Actually, if you go to the broodmare pasture and can manage to get her lined up with her half sister i think, Hades Goddess. She's lighter than that mare and that mare is supposed to be cremello? So would Hades Goddes be a perlino as well?

Well, for comparison:
Varnishing perlino (snowflakes)

Varnishing silver perlino

Silver perlino (possibly pangaré)

Especially her sire (the last one) looks like he could have extreme pangaré. If this is the case, she could as well. Both she and her sister look a little bit darker around their back area, but maybe I'm just projecting things that aren't there.
