Alright, so I asked Boss in the chat the other day about the Mealy gene. She said that it is dominant (not recessive), but there are a bunch of modifier genes that can make it appear different.

And based upon the two foals I posted previously, it looks like you can tell if the mealy will stick or not around 0.5 years old. The non-mealy's stomach and face started to darken around then (See the two galleries for comparisons).

A few of the pictures are of seal brown horses, not mealy horses. The pangaré is dominant.
