How do I actually make the breed?

Post by Currie Equine »

Hey guys! Please bare with me hear as I am pretty new to the game still. I am trying to breed for Ponys of the Americas and I'm struggling hard core. It's only two breeds combined to get them but I have yet to actually create a POA. I've even had horses that rate better as POAs that are combos of the two breeds necessary than some of the POAs I've seen. So what is the trick? How do I get them to actually be POAs and not ShetlandxAppy?

If you use a POA breed eval book, it will tell you how close your horses fit to what you're trying to breed. For instance if you look at the height requirement and both your horses fit it, you are more likely to have that requirement fulfilled. When your horse is born, if it fills all 4 requirements, then it will be a POA. If it doesn't fill any of them or even just 1 of them, it will be a cross. And if your horses don't rate 4* for POA, then you may have to try breeding two horses together that could potentially meet the requirements. For instance, if you have a horse that is too short to create the breed you want and one that is to tall, the foal 'might' fulfill that requirement. Hope this makes sense!
