COI Questions

I have a question about COI. I know it tracks the last 7 generations, but I'm stuck trying to determine what counts as 7 generations. XD If I have a pair of horses that I bred together and then accidentally bred two of their foals together, let's call the parents gen 0, and the foals gen 1, if I didn't breed any more horses into the line that shared any bloodlines would the COI stop counting that original gen 0 pair of horses on the foal of gen 6 or gen 7? Not sure if that makes sense...

Calculations use seven generations behind the subject horse.
