Very weird coloring!

Post by Emlyn »

So I like breeding dressage Arabians and I bred one of my best mares with a pretty good stallion:

Dam:
Speckled Sunset

Sire:
Nugget

And the produced this guy:

Spirit

Now she started out a buckskin (that's why I named her Spirit) Then her coat color changed into that! I have never owned a horse that has a coat color like her's!

Spirit has the graying gene, a gene that makes the horse's coat turn gray the older it gets

Yeah, I think he got that from his mother.

Because of the blue eyes, I think that's two copies of the tiger eye gene and looks like a buckskin. So I'd say graying buckskin with tiger eye but I'd double check that with BlackOak2 and/or Silverine

When she gets older (like in her teens or sooner) she might become flea-bitten like this mare:
Majestic Tale
