Uncertain if there is another gene included

Post by Malakai10 »

My horse is a grey on chestnut, but I am confused as to why he has dapples like this as he is greying out. I know that in real life, horses usually get dapples as they grey, but he is one of... three? I think - horses I have had that grey out like this. Is there another gene involved in this than simply the grey gene?

larissar wrote:The Grey gene has over 40 "helper genes". These helper genes control everything from the rate at which the horse will grey out, the dappling, the various stages a horse might go through, and how quickly he'll grey out.
