Color Help

Post by LM4ever2day »

I am rather confused with this guy's color.
Romeo

I am guessing some kind of chestnut or maybe a roan.
This is a signature... and it's a really good one too.

I would say Flaxen Red Dun with blanket.

It's a chestnut horse with Dun dilution and Silver gene.
Since both of his parents also have Silver he has the possibility of being Homozygous for Silver.
And this Dun gene came from his mother, he's 100% sure Heterozygous

The difference between Roan and Dun is that Dun is just lighter color, but Roan is a mix of white throught the coat color.

It's not Silver, if he's a chestnut. Silver isn't visible on chestnut. Normally this is due to varnishing, but he's had it since he was born so I say it would be flaxen. I'm also noting that it's coming from his mother's side, because his father is just vanishing.
