Arabian Color Help?
http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/22468 I just bought this stallion and I read all through the color guide, but I am curious to see what you think his color is? Also what do you call the pattern he has since he is a arabian? LOL

Re: Arabian Color Help?
You linked to a pasture. Hit the plus sign next to that horse in your pasture list and use that link.Keilah wrote:http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/22468 I just bought this stallion and I read all through the color guide, but I am curious to see what you think his color is? Re: Arabian Color Help?
Hi Keilah, you linked a pasture. You can link a horse by opening their profile separately via the + sign on the pasture page.
We also have this nifty forum code: [horse=*][/horse]
Put your horse's ID (the numbers in the profile URL) where the * is and its most recent photo will show up here. You can take photos on the little gallery tab on your horse's profile.

I believe Sandstorm's base colour to be amber cream + Tiger Eye. I'm not very experienced with Appaloosa patterns, but he also has snowflakes and an obviously spotted blanket.

Sapphira is buckskin.

Re: Arabian Color Help?
Yes it did work.
The leopard/appaloosa pattern that he (Sandstorm) has can be called snowcap btw. This pattern implies that he is homozygous for the Leopard gene, which means all of his progeny will inherit one and most probably show spots or a blanket themself.
Sapphira has a single copy of the Leopard gene and shows snowflakes/spots.
Didn't mention the base colours, cause I think nyraeia described it correctly.

Re: Arabian Color Help?
As something to mention, Sandstorm also looks like he's varnishing. Normally, Amber creams don't have that light of a mane/tail.

Re: Arabian Color Help?
All horses with Appaloosa colouring here vanish to an extent. Some more, some less. :)Devolare wrote:As something to mention, Sandstorm also looks like he's varnishing. Normally, Amber creams don't have that light of a mane/tail.

Re: Arabian Color Help?
Yep all horses with the LP gene varnish on here, but I figured it would be good to mention. Especially seeing as most people just assume that it is a known thing.nyraeia wrote:All horses with Appaloosa colouring here vanish to an extent. Re: Arabian Color Help?
Thank you so much for all your help!
So he is a Tiger Eye Amber Cream Snowcap, correct?
