What is a Grade Horse?
I am new to this game and my first horse breed I've started with is a Grade Horse, but I can't find any information about them on the breeds wiki and there isn't a book or anything on them at the book store?

Re: What is a Grade Horse?
A Grade horse is basically a mix where no breed "wins out" over the others. Basically the horse version of a mutt. If you breed it to a purebred horse (e.g. a Belgian), the foal will be a "half Belgian".

Re: What is a Grade Horse?
A grade horse isn't a breed, per se. Grades are considered to be a "hodgepodge" of multiple breeds, where you can no longer tell what percentages of other breeds it is. For example, your horse, Uriel, her parents are a cross between a Forest horse x Quarter horse and another Grade (which is a combination of many other unknown breeds). So she'd be part forest horse, part quarter horse, and part all of the horses her sire is.
You can get a grade horse from any combination of mixes too. I get them all the time when trying to breed more complicated breeds that require lots of crosses... I'm looking at you Thoroughbreds... But people don't usually aim to breed them, and will sometimes add them into one of their lines if they like a particular quality that they have (color, stats, feathers, etc).

Re: What is a Grade Horse?
The offspring of a Grade Horse and a Purebred could be "Half {Purebred]". But the result of mixing breeds can be complicated, and the game computer has the final say.

Re: What is a Grade Horse?
Grades can be really helpful when wanting to drop the COI of an old herd, or when wanting to add some new blood into an older line. I also use them for my smaller more rare herds. For instance I have a Welsh Cob herd, and in this game a good Welsh Cob is a hard thing to come by. I bred a couple Grades with high stats for Welsh cob and a wonderful breeders report to increase the quality and sale price of my Cobs. Grades have many uses if they match the breed your shooting for.
