Current Price of Studs Question/ Discussion

There’s a lot more private studs & studs with high speed but not trained/champed our there.

For the second one I might pay more though because he has FameDaLupa Lines very recently bred in him (only 1-2 generations away).

That’s a good point. If he didn’t have FameDaLupa Lines, would NOT breed to for that price.

Since FameDaLupa popped up the activity again and shared some of the best lines (then broke a few more records and so forth), there's been a hot run on anything related.

There are also two separate schools of studs for thoroughbreds right now. Those that are 'good on paper' and those that are 'proven'. Some people right now are breeding for the 'good on paper' look, so yes, there are studs out there that are seriously expensive because 'on paper' they have everything or almost everything they need. Then of course, there are the 'proven' ones that in some cases lack a bit 'on paper' but have the WPS or the foal production.

Since we've had a few newbies that have been able to take advantage of our junior and senior member giveaways with high-quality and in some cases even restricted bloodlines, this chasm between the two schools of studs did develop. Mainly because the newbie's can't get their horses trained for testing. But that's with all of us, just about. Too many foals and not nearly enough trainers or training ability around all of our breeding schedules.

However... I still find quite a few gems amongst the rest of them that fit perfectly what what I look for in the thoroughbreds that are much more than reasonably priced. And without using any special requests at all, I find breeding to a great quality, hidden gem for piddles on the dollar still fairly easy.

What I would suggest, in searching for your next primary standing stallion, click the purebred (unless a mixed or part is still acceptable for you), click the energy (because many of them belong to sleeper, defunct or inactive accounts), then start at the very last page and work your way forward. View those that visually have the body look you want, this will help to narrow your field quicker (that's something I often do), and I also generally view any that don't have gallery images.
I also click the progeny tab and avoid any that've produced more than say 20 foals, but that's just my preference.

Hi, so, I've just been scrolling through the TB studs. I was shocked and a bit flustered when I saw the price of decent racing studs! Millions of dollars. Did this just happen overnight? last I looked (granted tat was about 2 weeks ago) the prices were good (around 250k-300k for a decent competing stud). I, for one, thought I had a decent amount of money, but I guess not. Does anyone know what caused this surge of prices? Is/was there a money glitch that inflated the games economy? I do NOT want to pay a fortune on a stud who's foal I might not even like.

Can someone help me wrap my warped mind around this? I would ping BlackOak2 but she'll see it in a sec anyways.

However, I did the mistake of actually studding to an overpriced stud 15 times (it was when FameDaLupa opened their lines and they put one pf their Racing world record holders up for 100 million.... all the stallions I got where 02:01 minute racers. Imagine how I felt when a month later more of their stallions were up for stud and for the price of 1 to 10 million... R.I.P.)

I just want to state that this is my opinion btw.

As we all know Racing Thoroughbreds are very expensive. A few months ago most players did not even own a 02:00 minute stallion since most good Racing Thoroughbred breeders were keeping their lines private. So actually 02:00 minute stallions should be quite expensive considering the fact that the majority of HWO players just recently got their hands on a 02:00 minute horse.

Keep in mind that there are multiple reasons as to why you can add to the price of a Racing Thoroughbred.

Racing time, win percentage, pedigree, progeny, HGP, confo, comments and colour. Apart from that every player has a soft spot for their good Racing stallions so we all tend to price the horse just a bit more (some more than others).

Also it is very important to understand that when a player opens their private lines, lines that they worked hard on, for the first time the price is of course going to be a bit more expensive considering the fact that the players see this oppurtunity as a reward for their hard work (even if the result in the eyes of other players is not that good)

Apart from that, stallions that come from FameDaLupa's horses are usually overpriced. Not (only) because of the fact that the horse has a good pedigree but the fact that the owner is trying to get the money that they lost on the sire's studding fee back.

Im paying 50k for a 65 speed stud and im putting a 65 speed stud up for 50k too. I think people are greedy with money and always want more.
