Current Price of Studs Question/ Discussion

Post by KYTrainer »

Hi, so, I've just been scrolling through the TB studs. I was shocked and a bit flustered when I saw the price of decent racing studs! Millions of dollars. Did this just happen overnight? last I looked (granted tat was about 2 weeks ago) the prices were good (around 250k-300k for a decent competing stud). I, for one, thought I had a decent amount of money, but I guess not. Does anyone know what caused this surge of prices? Is/was there a money glitch that inflated the games economy? I do NOT want to pay a fortune on a stud who's foal I might not even like.

Can someone help me wrap my warped mind around this? I would ping BlackOak2 but she'll see it in a sec anyways. :D

It's usually the quality (racing times, breeders report, conformation, genetic potential, temperament, foals if there's any, pedigree, and body build) of the stud.

Yes, but I’ve seen even uncomped and unproven tbs stud ads being expensive.

There’s a lot more private studs & studs with high speed but not trained/champed our there.

IMO- This guy could be cheaper, but he’s not way too unreasonable. 65 speed, GCH, & times like 2:00:07. https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2220140

But this guy should not be the price he is. He’s still good but I would price him at 250-500k for stud. He’s never gotten a time under 2minutes, and he has just a 62 speed (good but it’s not a 65 or anything). https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2437534

Yes, the first one I would breed to. Good times and a cool color.

For the second one I might pay more though because he has FameDaLupa Lines very recently bred in him (only 1-2 generations away).

He has a 50% wp, not overly astounding times, and no children to check for quality. Yet he is priced at 3mil.

I would pay a MAX of around 300k for a breeding (and I may just be cheap, I don’t know though).

Just saying, a FameDaLupa horse can easily stud out for 4 million with no competition record since they are a trusted breeder who has the best horses ever  But I'm sure you already know that :)

Yeah, that linked stallion definitely could be lower because he doesn't have any foals.
