Newsletter Notifications Page

Post by BlackOak2 »

Welcome to the Newsletter Notifications Page.
I am opening this page to help keep the community up-to-date on certain things related directly to the newsletter. Such as positions' availability and Manager's Challenges among others. If the newsletter managers change, a new page should likely replace mine for ease of upkeep.

Update of May, 15 2020: with the new manager having already taken control, my notifications page is no longer a part of the newsletter, directly. The Manager's Challenges are still ongoing and the links can still be located at the bottom of this topic. I will also attempt to keep the current newsletter manager up-to-date. Feel free to use this topic to get in touch with the current newsletter manager. Just keep in mind that I no longer run the newsletter and will be forwarding all correspondence in appropriate manner.

The Manager's Position has been filled! Check out the newsletter for further information and await changes for the notifications page or the new notifications page!
Manager
The Newsletter Manager's position is still available.
Please remember this is Time Intensive.
Please remember, this is NOT a newbie position.
Please remember among other tasks, the primary one is as an emergency fill-in for any (and possibly every) newsletter branch.
The manager is responsible for keeping track of the branches, the ads that go into each branch, popularizing the Newsletter as a whole and ensuring that what should or need to go into the appropriate branch does.
If you consider this position, you will be overseeing (normally) 6 other HWO community members. They will look to you for direction and also payment. You will also be taking over any existing Manager's Challenges (though the payment for the existing ones I can cover if that's a problem).
You will need to familiarize yourself with the current format (until you decide it might need a change) and also the current rules (the first post) and also an update found here.
Experience writing at least one release is helpful but not required.
Experience handing the forum codes is necessary.
An upgraded account isn't necessary, but it goes a long way to keep things streamlined and easy.
If interested, reply to this topic or the writer's chat forum & remember that the current writer's must also agree to you taking the position.

Manager's Challenges
There are currently manager's challenges in Every Branch!

Current Donated Funds
Occasionally, I have funds sent to me to help cover the Manager's Challenges and other expenses that the newspaper incurs. Because it's getting a bit large, I will now keep that running total here instead. It can be considered the newsletter bank account. This doesn't change the fact that the newsletter manager is still entirely responsible for all newsletter expenses.

$3,500,000

Is Gymkhana manager still open, and how do you apply?

To apply for interest anywhere in the newsletter, you will need to forward the interest onto the current newsletter manager. I shall do that now.

And I will need to update that top page a little more, it's out of date.

Gymkhana has been taken by h0rsey recently. But we still have the Working Ranch Horse branch open. You can also talk to h0rsey and see if they would be willing to switch to Working Ranch Horse.

Thanks for letting me know. How can I apply/have an interview for the Working Ranch Horse position?

Yes I am interested! Thanks! I just have a few questions- whats the deadline for each month, could you clear up which events it is, and anything else I should know.

The events- Cutting; Reining; Western Trail; Working Ranch
Deadline - Around the end of the third week , of that month
Anything else - Nope!

Awesome, thank you! I've seen different events in it based on the month/writer.
One more question- how many issues will I be writing?
