Need Some Color Help Please
Hello there!
https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2378227
I've been struggling to identify what color this boy is. I don't think he has any cream, pearl, or champagne dilutions. He definitely looks red based to me, and for sure with roan. I was also thinking that he may be flaxen with pangare as well? And based on how masked he looks and some foal pictures I thought he might have dun as well.
So: Flaxen Chestnut Pangare, with Roan and Dun is what I think, would love to hear a second opinion.

Well, don't take my word for it but it doesn't look like it's flaxenThePonyProject wrote:Hello there!

Horse sense is the thing a horse has which keeps it from betting on people.

You're right, it does look a bit too dark for that.mlloftus wrote:Well, don't take my word for it but it doesn't look like it's flaxen

I'm unsure about the flaxen, it definitely looks odd doesn't it? So I'd say yes to flaxen just because it's so light and not necessarily because it's a different and darker color then the main body. This could actually be a variation of the plume rather than the flaxen, but I'm not sure.ThePonyProject wrote:Hello there!

But yes, I agree, chestnut base with pangare, dun and roan. This is verging on the pseudo-creams that we can develop when combining the right variations of dun and pangare.

Hmm I'll have to match him with some non flaxen chestnut mares to see about the flaxen probably. Although, This son of his looks just like him, but with a much darker mane so perhaps he is flaxen https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2395889BlackOak2 wrote:I'm unsure about the flaxen, it definitely looks odd doesn't it? Still looking at his foal pictures I guess I do see some plume too.
Thank you for the help!
