Bets are in on Today's HWO Breeder's Cup Classic!
Things are quiet over at PaintingPony's end of the barn at the famous Horse World Online racecourse. The air is tense with anticipation for the start-time of today's Breeder's Cup race. It's a large field of 10 horses. A few late entries may show up, making today's race even more exciting. PaintingPony's Gulfport, a stunning wild bay Akhal-teke stallion was last year's winner and is currently one of the favorites to win at 1/5 odds. He's now returning to defend his title against a tough field of formidable contenders. "I expect nothing but a solid performance out of him!" PaintingPony says as she finishes off a final brush stroke on the shiny stallion's sleek back, as if it would be even possible to get that coat any shinier, while running her hand across her face to remove a stray stand of hair that had fallen from her ponytail.
Gulfport has been nothing but consistent in his works and clocking in brisk times, but over on the other end of the track, Ailaphos, a stunning Pearl Palomino Grade horse owned by Naaki and bred by Qim with a 2/5 odds, is also making headlines by stacking win after win with blazing times as 02:13.75 in one of his most recent victories. Gulfport has struggled to pull ahead of Ailaphos but PaintingPony still believes the seasoned race veteran may have a few more wins left in him.
Other tough contenders in today's Breeder's Cup Include WS Albion, a thoroughbred stallion at 1/10 odds, Azrah the Turkmene stallion at 1/15 odds, EL-MUHINN at 1/18, but also don't count out the long shot, WW Mane Attraction, a blood bay turkmene straight out of the wild coming in at 1/24 odds.

This made me giggle so hard.
It also reminded me that I've got an Arabian racer that used to do pretty well. He's been in stasis for about 4 months while I was taking a hiatus, but I went ahead and entered him in. Hopefully he'll be an actual contender and not just embarrass the TungstenTree name.

and it is Ailaphos for the win and a 2 second lead! with the long shot WW Mane Attraction coming in at second and WS Albion a close third place. Gulfport followed in at 4th to finish off the money. "It was a good race.." PaintingPony said as she finished rinsing her stallion, Gulfport, off after the race. The aged bay looked relaxed as the water fell off his glistening coat. When asked whether or not Gulfport will be retired after today or try again next week, PaintingPony said "I'm not sure. I think he still has something left to give and he loves the race, but I also have a few other nice boys waiting for their chance. I might just let them, but we'll see when the time comes..."

Good stuff! Main Attraction will be back with a vengeance....if his owner can remember to enter him...or he doesn't die of old age!
