Elective Crossbreed?

I'm curious if it would be possible for players to choose whether a cross produces a new breed, when appropriate, or just a crossbreed. For example, the Arab/NBarb cross can create a 50/50 or a WBarb; could a breeder chose to have their horses labelled and/or registered as just an Arab-Barb?

Probably not. There are more variables that go into selecting the new breeds besides the parents breed. It's also dependent on the foals own characteristics and since the player cannot choose those, the likelihood of them being able to choose the breed would complicate matters.

But regardless of the other factors, the foal remains a cross between those two breeds; would the foal in the previous example lose the right to be registered as a half-Arab and/or half-NBarb? I was imagining a simple "opt-out" or dual registry for those sorts of horses, because I honestly would prefer to see any Arab-Barb crosses I made presented as just that, rather than being swapped to WBarbs.

hmm... you are right. I suppose this could be something I think about a bit more.
Right now I'm focused on getting the layouts sorted out, but I'll look into this when I get back to breeding and we can discuss some options.
