HWO Mustang Challenge?
Hey! I am sure that a lot of you are aware of the Mustang Makeover challenge, and I was thinking it might be fun to make a HWO version of it.
It would be a great way to spread awareness and also just a fun contest and good excuse to own more virtual ponies. I am planning on slowly phasing my Oldenburgs out by breeding them to mustang stallions, once this happens I expect to have a stable full of mustangs, probably more than I will know what to do with!
Here is how I *think* it would work. This is just a rough idea that I came up with at 1am so I am totally welcome to suggestions.
ENTRY
There will be an initial entry fee + $125(I only want to keep this since it's how much it really costs to adopt a wild mustang, but it might be a little too expensive for HWO), this is to ensure that nobody will snatch it up in the market since there aren't any private sales yet, and also ensure that nobody sells, breeds, rehomes, or ages the horse so much that they die before the competition is over. If the horse has not been sold, bred, rehomed, or died after the competition is completed, then the entry fee will be refunded in full. At the end of the competition, you have the option of keeping the horse and doing whatever you want with it, or if you no longer want to keep it I will purchase it from you for the $125 adoption fee or you can just try to sell it yourself. I am thinking that 20 entries would be the max participants. Simply because it might be difficult for me to produce more than 20 foals by myself for each competition. All will be between the ages 0-3. Ideally they would all be geldings of solid color, but I am breeding these myself so I will take what I can get. Your horse would be randomly selected so it would be a surprise.
THE COMPETITION
The goal of the competition would be to have the highest score out of a certain amount of shows..? Not 100% on how many shows and what discipline they would be yet, but probably a little bit of everything. I also think that the BCS should come into play. Extra points if your pixel pony is well taken care of! I am not certain if this is an effective and fair method, since obviously the more turns this horse has had to train, the more prepared it will be. Thinking that the competition date might be exactly 1 week after the horses are sent out, does that seem to long of a time? Too short?
Is there any interest in something like this? And if so let me know what you guys think I should change to make it more fun?

Re: HWO Mustang Challenge?
Awesome! If a few other people show interest I will start it up by next weekend. I think HWO could use some little events like this!
Already have a couple of full Mustangs, just need to get a few more and I will have enough breeding pairs.

Re: HWO Mustang Challenge?
I Like it! I would just need to start up my other account so I don't kill my horse.
You could have everyone train their horses to say... 15ish, enter the events, and let sit till they all run. Then tally up who wins. But I believe the show's run at 20 entries so it wouldn't be a long wait. Biggest problem would be keeping others from entering the events.

I like this idea! I was just thinking the same thing with the age limit. Originally I was just thinking you can age it however much you want as long as it doesn't die, but now I'm thinking 10-15 years should be the limit.Middy wrote:I Like it! Since there isn't any way to have private shows where you decide who can enter yet, I will just have to ignore anyone who enters and is not part of the challenge. The shows will run at a set date and time and will be announced before horses are assigned that way everyone should have enough time to make sure that they enter. Since I don't think there are private sales yet, it might be tricky to make sure that everyone purchases their correct horse, but hopefully there won't be too many problems. I wad thinking that each horse will be put up for sale for $1,125, just because I want to make sure random people don't snatch them. But the 1000 will be fully refunded as long as all the rules are followed, and the 125 can also be refunded if you return the horse at the end. I am thinking that the grand prize will be 10k split between the top 3. Some people might not think it's very much, but hopefully it will provide a little bit of incentive.
Glad there is some interest, I'm really eccited about how it will turn out.
