Now Dreaming About HWO... XD
I have been playing WAAAAY too much clearly. Of course, this is better than my usual nightmares by a lot (-shakes fist at PTSD-) but still pretty funny lol. If only I had more productive fun dreams about my Camp NaNo writing project!
On the other hand, part of my dream had HWO creating a sister site, Dog World Online, where the system was pretty much the same (breed all breeds from primitive breeds) and oh wow now I have a GREAT NEED for that even as a text-based RPG heh. Of course, I hear Furry-Paws is still alive (maybe necromance my account after NaNo?) and apparently there's a new dog sim opened in Feb. so that might be fun? Idk. Seriously though can someone please make it so I can breed all the dogs from a few dogs? -flails- That sounds so fun oh wow.

I would 110% play a dog version of HWO. Furry-Paws never really caught my interest. I really enjoyed Best In Show Sim for a while but the most recent overhaul really put me off. I wanted to like Herding Dog Farms but it's made by the same person as BISS and has many of the same flaws as the newest version of BISS, so I couldn't get into that either. But something exactly like HWO with the turn system and the breeding system with creating new breeds with primitive breeds, oh * yeah, sign me up!

Yeah. I tried to get into FP and BISS, but neither held my interest for too long. Dynasty is in the wind now, along with Mutt-z, and I can't even remember what happening to the sled dog one. Pine Ridge Herding was cute and fun until I ran into an issue with bullying and kind of apathetic staff. :/ Like. I may set this up as an RPG. Not exactly sure how, but on here somewhere and maybe if we got enough interest and did a lot of the planning, they could make an alpha like old HWO. Nothing nearly as fancy, but as a test run. 
As is, I'm pretty sure going by genetic testing, the oldest breeds are unlike my dog encyclopedia (new science FTW). They appear to be Afghan Hound, Akita, Alaskan Malamute, American Eskimo Dog, Basenji, Canaan Dog, Chinese Shar Pei, Chow Chow, Dingo, New Guinea Singing Dog, Saluki, Samoyed, and Siberian Husky.
"Results also indicated that the Basenji had recent admixture with Middle Eastern wolves.
The study found that there were three well-supported groups that were highly divergent and distinct from modern domestic dogs. The three groups were
an Asian group (Dingo, New Guinea singing dog, chow chow, Akita and Shar Pei) that showed past admixture with Chinese wolves,
a Middle Eastern group (Afghan hound and Saluki), and
a northern group (Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky)."

And, of course, like in HWO it would be swell to include extinct historical breeds too. Maybe even wolves in the "wild" group like we have the Przewalski.

The closest thing to a dog version of HWO is Dynasty. About a week ago I dreamt that I finally got 5 greens

Oh wow! I wish you the best of luck. I have a novel from 9 years ago I'm considering reworking later on, maybe for next camp? Not sure. I just fell in love with the characters and I'd love to share them. It's fantasy YA based in AU Eastern Europe and Turkey.QuesthavenFarms wrote:
