Inheritance of feathers.
I have noticed that some of my horses don't get the feathers on their feet that i am breeding for.
And some have both their parents and grand-parents with feathers, but still no feathers on the foal.
And some of the foals don't get their feathers until they are almost fully grown.

So my question is: How do i know if the foal will have feathers or not?

I breed feather into most of my horses but as far as I know there is no way to tell if a foal will grow feather or not. Although all my feather to feather matings have produced foals with feather as far as I know or have noticed. Some lines grow feather in early, some late. I have one line that has really full feather but it often doesn't come in until 7 or 8yo!! Other lines they will have all their feather by 3yo
