Just a little confused with this big guy, from everything I've found silver shouldn't show up on a chestnut base?

He's silver black as the base colour, with champagne and two creams, I think.
My similar, but less white stallion:
Snow Prince

I put him up for public stud in the hope that with a few more foals on the ground I'll figure out the finer details of his colour.

Huh. It never even came to my mind that he could be black based makes sense though. I'll try breeding him to my mares to see if I can't narrow it down.
