The "Show off your horse" thread.

Post by Catato »

Have a horse that you are so proud off, you want to share it with everyone? Does it have a beautiful coat with unique patterns, is the best of it's breed, or a great show horse? Post them here!

I have so many I am proud of so I probably shouldn't start 'cause I won't know where to stop ;)

1. One of them is Ankara, a turkmene foundie (Grullo), one of my very first mares (2nd or 3rd), she had good stats for an AC horse and brought me a lot of competition money, she was one of the best turkmenes in the ranking. Nearly all my Turks and Akhal-Tekes are offspring of her. R.I.P.

2. Sahara, a NAB foundie mare in amber cream, has also good stats and brought me many very good foals. She will go soon as well, but her daughter Samara looks the same and has even better stats!

3. So let's also show off something, so here something nice colourwise. ;) Gomera, I think she is Silver Black Cream Pearl, I am not sure about the roan yet. Has also good stats. :)

4. And another special one. Probably the only or one of very few Perlino Sorraias.

5. Sooty dapple metallic palomino <3 It's the sire, who makes the sooty coat (although dapple switch could be from dam), her cremello half sister is also beautiful.

I'll refrain from posting all my horses and only pick my top three favourites ;)

This guy was the first horse I ever competed "for real" and he's won me quite a bit of points and money. He's amongst the best Saddleseat horses according to the top 20, and he was the first of my horses to sire flaxen chestnuts.

Then there's this stallion under training, and I just loooooove his silver black coat that has no dapples. Stats and conformation are okay, so I'll see how well he does in competitions.

At last we have Sigmundr, the very first Aegidienberger in the game who was born on the 26th of August last year. It's interesting to see how much my breed has developed in the direction I wanted (I remember having sooo many amber creams with roan that looked super ugly). All of my horses decend from him alone in some way, and I believe my most recent foals have him 20 generations back.

Pssst, take a look below!

Here's my favourite of the moment! Mostly for his unbeaten show record, but also for his chunky little bum!
Croissant II

Erm also did I mention his line's hilarious French pastry themed naming scheme... It's always the champions that end up with the ridiculous names.

I'll briefly mention my first four stallions (The Original "Fab Four"), in case anyone want to looks them up. I wish to express my profound gratitude to HorseLady 72 who introduced me to this game and sold me three of them. :D

Finally, some eye candy (stallions are not modest, so why should their owners be? I bred him.):

Thoughtful
who has been killing it in his new show career. I was originally on the fence about keeping him because I'm trying to get my entire herd of Dutch Harness Horses to be tiger eyed and he's only a carrier, but I trained him up a little and as soon as he started scoring well in local competitions I decided to keep him. Glad I did. He's a multiple world record holder and has the highest Saddleseat record at any level currently.

Turkish Queen
was an impromptu outcross.. I actually didn't do this outcross for better stats at all so I was very surprised when she popped out with positive remarks in all the saddleseat traits. Her sire was a red dun blanket appaloosa part Turkmene that I bred, conformationally a train wreck and unpopular as a sire. I bred to him on a whim just to see what I'd get. She's a keeper. She will also be going to the competition barn later in life and will be my first mare to enjoy everlasting life. She will also be introducing the dun gene to my DHHs. Whoops.

Twice the Fortune
is a grandson of a part Turkmene stallion named Festive Fortunes. Festive Fortunes had the extreme density snowflake spotting and as far as I know, was the only stallion available to public stud with the gene. Twice the Fortune's dam is definitely high density as is he. I suspect I won't be able to get extreme density out of this bloodline no matter how much inbreeding I do but I'm going to try anyway.

Summer Snow
is one of the products of my pearl project. I am in love with his sire DWS Ghost and wanted a small herd of similar white horses. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the herd of white horses I will have, whether or not I'll integrate the pearl gene into my DHHs or not... I don't know. but LOVE the color.
