Journal Entry #1
Amelia Cross

Seaborough Estate
The first generation has been a large success to date. Two healthy foals have been produced, and another is due in a month or two. I suppose I should talk about the project, maybe that would make it more clear. Well Seaborough Estate is currently working on producing Thoroughbreds, solely from our own stock, founded by the adoption centre. We have our plans well laid out, and are currently progressing much faster than anticipated.———————————————————

AS1-0 x AM1-2
[Przewalski Horse x Tarpan] AM1-2 has produced a small filly identified as BM4. Once this filly is of age, she will be covered by a Tarpan stallion to progress our project further. Snowflake is a characteristic from the dam that we are begging BM4 to carry, although at the current moment it seems she does not want to co-operate. However, we will be getting a dun colouration in the bloodline from this cross, and we hope that it will carry through breeding as dun is something we want to see in our final Thoroughbreds.
AS2-3 x AM2-4
[Arabian x North African Barb] Due to some logistical miscalculations, AM2-4 was covered a few months after the other two mares. Thus is yet to produce a foal. The gender of this foal is largely important, and should best be a filly, or else a re-breeding will have to take place, which is time that we do not wish to waste.
We are hoping that this foal carries over the cream and sooty genes of it's dam, along side the possibility of flaxen from the sire. Although, we understand that genetics do not always work in your favour. If the foal is to carry just one of these characteristics, it shall be fantastic. It is of course easy to try and add these colours back in later down the line.
AS3-5 x AM3-2
[North African Barb x Forest Horse] AM3-2 has produced a handsome colt identified as BS5. This colt shall cover AM2-4's progeny, once both are of age. This colt is already looking to be quite an interesting colour. We are also conflicted in regards to feathering, while we would like to remain as true to the Thoroughbred type as possible, feathering is a lovely characteristic that adds a little bit of flare. If we decide we do or do not want this trait, we can assess the possibilities further down the line.
Once this generation is complete, adoption centre horses will be moved off site and to another of our stables to ensure we have room to continue our project. These horses will serve as competition horses, and will help provide an income as breeding continues in other branches.
We are also hoping that these final horses have an aptitude for either Racing (including sprint), Show-Jumping or Cross-Country. Although, it will be hard to manage with all the Adoption Center horses required, it most definitely will be something that we can aim towards once we have produced a number of Thoroughbreds.
