attribute points

So I've always been unsure of where i should assign these. I read in the faq that the points can effect how quickly you learn courses but i'm not sure if it effects anything else. So far i maxed out the intelligence 20/20 and have added about 8 points a couple other attributes, I decided to start saving my points though since I'm not quite sure what all the attributes effect if anything right now. I'm level 24 now though so it usually takes me a decent amount of time to reach a new level (and gain a new point) since it takes longer the higher you go up. Anyone else care to share their ideas about where to place their points?

I had no idea either so I've just been evenly splitting them between all attributes. I'm currently on level 23 .

but how does adding an attribute point to say Determination or Patience effect the Stallion Handling for that example? Does it allow you to learn more courses? Or do the learning courses effect the attribute points?
