Temperaments and Record Holders?
Were some temperaments implemented much later than others? I was doing an analysis of types and temperaments of record holders across all disciplines today and, when I look at 5 examples for each discipline, only 5/110 horses had a temperament other than bombproof or high strung.
I can see that making sense if bombproof/high strung were the only options in the early horses and therefore have drifted to high frequency in developed lines, but if all temperaments were available at the start AND temperament has any effect on show scores then it's really odd that you never see some of the other temperaments?
