Looks like a sooty palomino, but I'm not so good with complex horse colors.

Close, but not quite. Actually a sooty dunalino - palomino with semi-cryptic dun. Before sooty takes over there is the dun mask, the neck and body colour being more washed out, not the bright gold on the legs and head. Later, the sooty affects the dun diluted part more than the undiluted part of the horse, making it appear uneven (this is something I've noticed in my own cryptic duns - sooty affecting the dun mask more than the rest of the body, making it kinda more visible).
