Graveyard doesn't know horse colors
So naturally it will be easier for me to just make a thread and keep begging for people smarter than me to tell me what color my horses are
I guess I'll just post some here and reply with any others I get that I'm not sure of...
Cremello? Arctic Prince

Shoot To Kill

how about her?Painted Heart

Re: Graveyard doesn't know horse colors
Perhaps this will help:
In her current (older) picture you can see the stripes on her legs. Which is a big giveaway for one dilution in particular. Also, while her dam has the champagne gene, this girl doesn't have the pink tones around the muzzle.
So:
1. Determine the base color (red, bay, or black).
2. Add the dilution gene that causes striping on the legs.
Boom, you'll have your color!

Spotted Buckskin Dun, or Buckskin Dun with Blanket, depending on your preferred terminology. The dam looks to be smokey cream, and the sire Spotted Red Dun or Red Dun with Blanket

Re: Graveyard doesn't know horse colors
this baby is giving me trouble. I think she's getting some dun stripes on her butt and neck now
Undead love

Re: Graveyard doesn't know horse colors
Undead Love is Silver Bay Dun Blanket + Varnish
When determining Dun, it is always good to look for a dorsal, leg barring, shoulder shadow and a face mask. The body often looks washed out too.
Quicken is Silver Grulla Snowflake + Varnish and TIger Eye
The dorsal is very hard to spot, but he has a distinct shoulder shadow, and a faded overall coat colour compared to regular Silver Blacks
:)
