Please be aware of Lila2517

Please be aware that this player deliberately uses private studs without permission so be careful when this player is online!

I feel it's time for me to input my two-cents into this before this goes any further.

First, this is in reference to this topic:

Now onward.

Mandrake, you are still fairly new, at least this account you're using is.

So I'll enlighten you or remind you (if this isn't your first go on HWO) to a few things.

This game is not yet complete. There are a lot of options that we don't yet have access to. One of these is approved broodmares. This affects us in such a way that we have No Ability to say yea or nay to anybody with the funds to breed to Any Horse that's up for public stud. Eventually, this, like other options, will be added to the game.

What this means for us is twofold. First, if your horse's bloodlines are precious to you, then protect them. Second, even if you post a horse is private stud, you leave it to the community to respect your wish. However, this does not give you any right to demand the foal be sold to you, demand the foal rehomed or demand the mare delivered to you until she drops.

You can ONLY request these things. And if the other player says no... then there is no further recourse for you. You can attempt to sweeten the pot by offering a larger sum, or an equivalent horse, but if the answer remains 'no' then that is a simply the way it stands.

What you CAN do when posting private studs: Keep them posted for very limited time-spans. Give them an extravagant studding fee, thereby earning a large return if somebody does decide to use your stud. Or private sell the stud to and from the stables that's using him and housing him.

Although Lila2517 may not have respected your request to not use your stud, this does not authorize you to 'warn the community' about such a situation. You have already done so by requesting the foal returned to you on the original topic. The HWO community has already been made aware of what happened. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that's currently watching what's going on. We are a community of inclusion. Many of us oversee and watch carefully the goings on in the forums and we do our best to keep our community in the form that you see before you. If you are indeed new to HWO, give yourself time to understand that this is not other games and our community is a FAR cry from other communities on the net.

Remember, until certain things are released into the game, we must practice tolerance for inabilities or simply not put ourselves into a compromised position. This falls to each one of us individually to make these decisions and thus we each become responsible for the outcomes.

Lila2517, remember that enemies can be made at the flip of a coin on HWO. If you're having unusual difficulty creating a rare breed, the community can help you do so, instead of reverting to sneak-breeding a stud that another member has requested remain private. Instead, you could have directly asked, or asked for a bred-to-order foal. And if Mandrake wasn't willing, there could have easily been another member that will step up to the plate.
We are a community that does help when and where we can. We offer grinders to our newbies, most often for free. We offer discounted and sometimes even free training to our newbies. We support returnee members with aid should they need it. We run brilliant giveaways for thousands and million of dollars for really any subject. And perhaps the best point of our community, is that instead of just giving a handout as a ready-made breed, we teach and describe the inner workings of how we got to where we are, to those members that can't quite get it yet.
Purchasing the ready-made on this game will only get each of us so far. If we don't understand the intricacies of how to get there and how to uphold it, more than one member has found themselves left behind at some point, then beginning from essentially square-one, trying to build that impressive bloodline from scratch.

Good Luck, to both of you, in your gameplays.

I agree with all of what BlackOak2 has said.

I had this happen before with several of my horses. To prevent this, it's the best to only keep the horse up for a limited amount of time, only as long as you need the horse to or to transfer the horse to your other account (Yes, it's a pain to do a lot of transferring but it will prevent private studs from being used). Like what BlackOak2 said, it doesn't give you a reason to be aggressive to them. You can KINDLY tell them that it was a private stud and ask KINDLY and POLITELY and see if they will give/sell/rehome the foal to you, if they don't give you the horse, then there's not much else you can do as it is their horse and they can do whatever they wish with the horse. It's important to see an issue from not just your perspective but also from the other person's, or persons', perspective.

I understand that there are a lot of horses that you really want to use as a stud, even if they are private. It's not against the rules to use any stallions up for stud but it would be extremely kind, polite, and considerate of you to either not use the private stud or ask for the owner's permission to use the stallion. But, this doesn't give you any reason to be aggressive to the owner if they say something about it, even if they are being aggressive. Also think about how you would feel if someone were to use your private studs. Like I said earlier in the post, it's important to see an issue from not just your perspective but also from the other person's, or persons', perspective.
