The In-Hand Esperia Crown Contest - Over
***Contest has been run and finished***
First, let me say that this will be the first contest I will have ever run on HWO. So this will be a bit interesting.
Second, I must include that this is to support the in-hand competition awareness and popularization.
And finally, this is a contest run in direct conjunction with a set of in-hand competitions.
So, I present:
The In-Hand Esperia Crown
There will be three high-purse, level 10 competitions made in In-Hand.
One will be strictly for stallions. Competition Record Here.
One will be strictly for mares. Competition Record Here.
One will be open entry. Competition Record Here.
Entry into any of these three events will be 1000.
Pot added will be 100,000.
Single Winner Prize
Esperia Pony Filly

She is, as of publishing this contest, the ONLY member of her breed on HWO.
She is a quest-made horse.
She'll grow up to be a buckskin dun (both parents carry dun, and she appears to already have it) and she also carries a tiger eye gene.
Her adult height will be between 14.2hh and 15hh.
She was born with an even temperament.
Her BR and conf scores are all average, no negatives or reds.
Her HGP is in the mid 30k range.
Conformation scores can be added before transfer to the winner if requested.
She is currently boarded to remain frozen.
Some Rules
1) Please limit entries to one or two horses per owner (not per stable). To aid in this, I am adding this rule:
2) The owner's least competitive horse will be the horse counted into the contest. So if you have three horses in a five-horse field, and they place first, third and fourth, it will be the fourth placed horse that will earn the points toward the contest and NOT the first placed horse. I am incorporating this rule to separate spamming the competition and the fairness of the contest.
3) Only One Horse per owner will be counted toward the this contest, so make sure your best horse or two horses are making an appearance.
4) Owners are of course, allowed to enter all three competitions. In this case, of the horses that they have entered, the lesser performing (either the mare or the stallion, if they have entered both horses across all three competitions), will be counted toward the contest, in line with rule 2.
5) Perhaps the most important rule to this contest. To further separate the competitions and the contest, owners that enter FIVE OR MORE horses into any of the three competitions, either separately OR ADDED TOGETHER, will disqualify themselves from the contest entirely. They are free to enter the competitions for the purse, but will no longer be in the running for the contest win.
Some Things To Consider
1) No one owner can sweep all three competitions. The best a single owner can do, is win two of the three. But because of the way our horses run in the competitions, there is no guarantee that a great performance by a single horse will be repeated in a second competition. This helps in leveling the playing field.
2) The reason there is a stallion only and a mare only, is to offer a better playing field and level the competition performances between both sexes. This game does give a slight disadvantage to mares, or... perhaps that's a slight advantage to stallions. Either way, there is a slight difference.
3) I will not be force-running these competitions. So if there are slow entries, then this contest may be slow to run. Please allow them to fill and not force-run them. Thank You.
4) These competitions will be subject to the '20-entry immediate run' rule of HWO. Which means that once 20 horses enter, BEFORE the scheduled running, the game will run the competitions in the next batch. I don't foresee that happening however.
In Case Of Ties
Because of the way the contest is designed, there is a chance of a tie. If a tie occurs, the following will be used to determine the contestant winner.
1) The horse that earned the larger overall points as calculated by the system will break the tie.
2) If the tie continues, the horse with the best overall time, without penalties, will break the tie.
3) I have a third out, but it's not a tie breaker. If the tie remains unbroken, this 'third out' will apply and will be offered to both winners.
Scoring Guide
The scoring guide I will be using will follow the guide I've already made for Event Project makers.

Re: The In-Hand Esperia Crown Contest
Competitions have run. Points have been calculated.
There has been a tie, between paintarab & Thundermare
Tie Breaker 1) The horse that earned the larger overall points as calculated by the system will break the tie.
Points total awarded by system across these three competitions.
Fresh Energy = 66
330 Peppy Rogue = 9
Fresh Energy breaks the tie.
Congratulations, paintarab, you have won the contest.
Please collect your filly at the next available time. I will have her released to you when you post for the pickup. Please remember, she will only be released to your contest-winning account.
Thank you all, for participating in the contest. I hope you enjoyed the competitions and enjoyed the contest as well.

Re: The In-Hand Esperia Crown Contest
She wasn't an easy breeding, but she did pop quick. It was the murgese x salerno side that was the difficult one. Pull the height down on that side. Then favor caspian x tarpans that choose the horse-side rather than the pony-side.honeybunny wrote: Great Job yall! This was a fun contest... for a awesome prize! Hope you enjoy the pony... Great job!
You'll likely get tall offspring and pony-style offspring and then the occasional super-light. It's one of those mad-mix recipe breeds that has so many different types of breeds going into them for a few breed-generations that they'll end up throwing everything BUT what they are.

Re: The In-Hand Esperia Crown Contest
The Murgese x salerno is super hard! I can't find a single one of these horses for sale and only salerno is avalible for stud... I bred the caspian x tarpan a while ago and have a mare with great eval for Espiria... any way I could stud to the stallion?BlackOak2 wrote:She wasn't an easy breeding, but she did pop quick. He is the salerno x murgese cross.
I also still own the murgese pure father of him. But the kladruby quest isn't open yet, so he'll be hanging around for awhile yet. As I work through some of these other breeds, my rare sales might pop more salerno mixes (not crosses) and I'm sure I'll get around to some murgese mixes (not crosses) as well. For those that need those rares for quests or those that collect. I'll be running those rare sales for awhile I think, of the breeds I have.
