Frown upon or?

Post by Tiina »

I sold a horse yesterday and I am Happy that he found a new home.
So far so good :)

When I look at the horse at the new owner, the horse has gotten a new name (thats fine, not everyone likes the same), BUT the new owner has tagged the horse like it was bred by new owner AND has written in notes that the tag should not be removed After a sale?

Am I a little "*" When I get a little cranky over that? :?
After all, new owner removed my breeding tag

Yeah that's pretty stupid of them. However, the horse should still have you as the producer so there's no changing that.

Yes, I am still listed as breeder :D
I just wondered if that was "the way to go" in here... After all, I am proud of my offspring you know, so when someone tagged "my" horse as his or her own breeding, I got a little itchy

I've bought horses and renamed them too, but never with my own tag ;)

I would possibly rename a horse I bought, but then I would add the original tag again. I think it's a nice way of giving credit to the breeder.

Looking at the bright side, it just means your horses are good enough to be "claimed" by others ;)

That's actually a good idea with the original tag! I haven't thought about that...
I've just renamed, but not with my own tag, that's just for my own offspring :)

You're right! I should take it as a pad on the shoulder :D

Thanks ;)

I rarely buy horses but those I do, I typically don't rename unless they have a really truly godawful name or are just Unnamed Horse #XXXXXX. If there's a prefix or suffix I don't remove it.

I can't wait for the breeder prefixes/suffixes/brands/whatever to be available. I don't mind if a person renames an unnamed horse they bought from me of course but renaming one of the ones I slap an A suffix on and removing that suffix makes me sad. Maybe it's just not obvious enough that it's a suffix. Buuut yeah. I don't think you're being unreasonable.

I don't buy any horses at the moment either, but have been when I started out.
Those I have bought where there was a tag or brand name, I didn't rename.

I'm glad that I'm not perceived as a sour troll in this topic

Totally off topic! How do I get my country updated on the right side in here? Or is it just for Premium users?

I go with the "once it's sold, it's there's to do with as they please" mentality. If I bred the horse, then my name will always be on it regardless, and if I didn't I'm just another owner and can't take all the credit anyways. Bigger things to stress about.

That's probably the best way to think :)
I was just disappointed when I saw it. Maybe I'll don't care when I breed and sell more horses over time :D

Almost all of my horses, I have bought. I love supporting other players by buying their horses, that I need for my breeding program. I do place my tag on all my bought horses because I train and compete with all my horses. I also place there breeder's tag at the end of the name if the horse was bought with a tag. I put in the time to train and compete with the horse, so they have my tag on the front of the name.

I know that coding for tag addition would be a challenge, since some breeders want symbols and others want letters or a combination of both.
