Seeking writers for a weekly newsletter

Post by Virgo »

So I thought that it would be really neat to have a weekly newsletter that gives updates on all of the happenings in HWO. You know, a post where you can just click and read to be in the know about horses, players, and events.

Attention!! Writers still needed for these categories:
-Saddle seat horses and events
- Ponies and in-hand jumping events
- Western pleasure/trail horses and events
- Working ranch/cutting/reining horses and events
- Endurance/racing/spring racing/steeplechase horses and events

Please let me know if I missed any disciplines.

Please reply to this post with the following form to apply!

Category:
Your primary breed:
Secondary breed:
Primary event:
Secondary event:
Do you currently hold any records?
Why are you perfect for this category? (Optional)

I would love to be a part of this anyway I can!
Category:
Ranch interviewer (interviews a weekly featured ranch)
Studs (must be someone who specializes in breeding! Researches studs and shares their weekly picks)
Your primary breed:
Yorkshire Coach Horse
Secondary breed:
Standardbred
Primary event:
Dressage
Secondary event:
Hunter
Do you currently hold any records?
All previous records have currently been beaten but were held in driven dressage, hunter and sprint racing
Why are you perfect for this category?
I have been very dedicated to game since November 2015 and try to active in the community. I have developed my herd of Yorkshire Coach Horses from the ground up and continue to maintain the breed while sharing it with other players. I am also an Equine major in college who is studying Equine genetics. Don't let the idea of college scare you away from me making a commitment.

Category:
  • - Top headlines (the most interesting info, such as a major breakthrough)
    - Show jumping/dressage/hunter horses and events
Your primary breed:
  • Kaimanawa
Secondary breed:
  • Not applicable. Though I do dabble in crossbreds to improve my Kaimanawa breeding program.
Primary event:
  • Hunter
Secondary event:
  • Not applicable
Do you currently hold any records?
  • Hunter L3, L4, L5, L10
Why are you perfect for this category? (Optional)
  • I'm not great at talking myself up but here it goes: I have always enjoyed writing and was a member of the school newspaper back in high school. I also did a lot of creative writing. I spend a lot of time on chat so get to hear the odd juicy tidbit of gossip (not the bad sort! XD). I am a stay at home mother of one vivacious one year old so while I can be busy chasing after the little tyke I do have time in the morning before he wakes up, a couple hours in the afternoon while he naps, and a few hours in the evening after he goes to bed to devote to writing articles! Also being a stay at home mother I do not get to use my brain that often; so this would be the perfect way to relieve my restlessness!

Oh, I would love to help with this! Here goes ;)

Category:
Studs, Ranch, Top Headline (depending on what exactly this means)

Your primary breed:
Aegidienbergers

Secondary breed:
Have bred a few WABs, but prefer sticking to my primary breed

Primary event:
Endurance

Secondary event:
Western Trail

Do you currently hold any records?
Not at this point of time. I spend most of my time on breeding, but plan to slowly drown myself in competitions.

Why are you perfect for this category?
I enjoy this game a lot (A LOT), breeding especially. I've bred my own breed from the very bottom, and I have absolutely loved achieving my goals! I'm also very interested in horses (famous/infamous studs, diseases, genetics, history, breeds) and equine colours, and that makes this the perfect horse-simulator-game-thing for me. On top of that, I always like a good chat, and would love to engage myself more in the community. It just seems really nice compared to larger communities, and it gives me a wonderful chance to improve my English. :)
Realistic Breed Project
Pssst, take a look below!

We should use the staff we have and start working on the newsletter for February.
I think once it gets started more members will be interested.
