Stat Question

Is it possible for a horse to perform well in a certain event (racing) when it doesn't have a green or gold stat? It's not red, but it's neutral ("Your colt is very fast"). I'm just wondering if I might have to pick a different event.

No, I don't believe so.

I have champed horses with red stats before and they actually did fine.

You should read the Comp evaluation tread a few posts below your post. It says its not about gold or green but about the comment itself. You colt is very fast is a comment that can be green, gold or without colour but according to the earlier mentioned post you get the same amount of points for it.
