Re: Noobs and breeding communities
I like this idea.Raikit wrote:
What I think is more likely to help is topic approval....
I would also add that I think maybe the community should be able to approve or deny the topics. In such a way as the community can aid the author in correcting what's missing, before the topic becomes official. Some people only need some guidance.
But I still would like to be able to clean up the forums, rather than relying completely on our admins for it.

Re: Noobs and breeding communities
I can agree here with the Topic Approval idea as well. This way the forums are able to stay "cleaner" than they have been. Referring back to before I was able to post in the forums, as annoying as it was, I really liked how it had to be approved by an Admin. Just shows that this take this game rather serious in what can and cannot be posted, but as any online game with a forum and plenty of members having access to it, sadly drama and off topic posts happen. But I do not think it is our job to fix it, but I do like the idea overall.BlackOak2 wrote:I like this idea.Raikit wrote:

Hope this made sense.

Yes i agree, thats why in the past i reported off topic posts and mentioned the rules with my report.Raikit wrote:
What I think is more likely to help is topic approval, much like how admins must already approve posts from players below a certain amount of posts. If the forum was locked to approved topics only that would require each topic to go through a certain amount of quality control. This would not discriminate against new players vs old or young players vs adults but would still ensure that first posts are informative and actually belong in the breeding communities forum.
The first 2 times it worked, but it isnt working anymore

The game has a much greater following now. With only two admins, coding and updating the game, dealing with help-me mail-in's and also acting as moderators, as well as living their own lives... it still surprises me some of the things they get done and the intricacies of such (leopard complex, paint genes, etc.). Of course they have a load of experience built through the years, but experience only goes so far in 24 hours!8arbarossa wrote:Yes i agree, thats why in the past i reported off topic posts and mentioned the rules with my report.Raikit wrote:

This is certainly a conundrum.

Re: Noobs and breeding communities
As far as the forums go, they could try accepting applications for board moderator positions. There are many players that have been here for a very long time that display a maturity level appropriate for such a position, and I'm sure at least some of them would be willing to apply. That could help take some of the load off.BlackOak2 wrote:The game has a much greater following now. Re: Noobs and breeding communities
I don't necessarily think that "new" players (and really if you play often, you can make it pretty far in 6 months) shouldn't be allowed to start a thread, but maybe more forum moderators would be helpful. Even if those moderators were volunteer (say some of the older players that had some free time and would browse the forum looking for rules that have been broken (maybe even notifying players that they have X amount of time to fix their post or it will be deleted).8arbarossa wrote:I suggest that new players (that play less than 1 year) are NOT allowed to start a tread in the breeding community
