A Story-I missed the deadline
So I was going to enter _h_a_z_e_l_'s writing contest. I was busy with school and did not get a chance to post, so I thought I would post it here if anyone wanted to read it. Hope you like it.
****Disclaimer-I made up a last name so that I could have a complete character for the story.*****
She was nervous for a good reason. Illusion and Hollywood Summer were in the race. They were by far the most likely to win. While the two were already champions, they weren’t well known or tested in such an intense race.
While the two horses were twins one was silver perlino and the other flaxen palomino. They paced slowly to the starting gaits, where handlers pulled them into the starting gates. The other three horses followed them.
Hazel took a slow breathe, these next two minutes would be of extreme importance to her. The bell sounded, and the gates opened. All five horses flew from the shoots, trying for an early lead.
Unforgettable, one of her horses, instantly began to fall behind. Today was not going to be her day it seemed. On the other hand, Undaunted was maintaining an early lead, but not by much.
He wasn’t being pushed too hard, and could maintain the pace for several minutes. Illusion was very close to being in first, only a half length from being ahead.
Half way around, she caught Unforgettable slowly move closer to the pack. She paid no attention, he had already lost, she was more invested in Undaunted keeping his first place.
Nearer and nearer they came to the home stretch. Undaunted still keeping his early lead. They came into the home stretch. Hazel could not believe her eyes.
Unforgettable had regained an amazing amount of ground, now neck and neck with his brother. The other horses, slowly falling seconds behind them.
They stared at each other in the eye as the last few yards came to them. It was a photo finish to decide the winner.
“Undaunted followed by Unforgettable. Third is Bourbaki. Fourth comes Illusion. And last is Hollywood Summer,” the announcer called. Hazel could not believe what she had just witnessed. From last to second Unforgettable rose. The most likely to win horses, bottom of the pack.
The horse truly lived up to his name in that race. His brother was truly Undaunted by any challenge he may face, even his twin brother.
Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think!

If you want you can. I am not picky, I wrote it for fun, and had fun writing it, so either way it is a win-win situation._h a z e l_ wrote:I can still enter you Kam!
