Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
Well I started the game almost a week ago now but didn't get around to making a page until now. So I guess I'll try to go through how things started.
The first horse I adopted was a red dun Turkmene mare that I named Red Thorn:

She had several foals while with me, four of which I still have. The first is a grey bay dun filly by this stallion (whom I bought but quickly sold again). I wasn't sure what to expect from the cross, but Bleeding Heart has turned into an amazing little mare. She currently holds the record scores for levels 1 and 2 of saddleseat. Here she is:

Two of the other three foals were failed attempts at breeding Tchenaranis - meaning they ended up as Turkmene x Persian Arabians. Despite being "failures" they are both nice-looking horses. The first is a brown dun colt who would have been perfect if he hadn't ended up so unexpectedly tall.
The second is a grey bay dun filly who fell short in the majority of areas but is still pretty. I named the colt Journey and the filly Scarlet Letter. Here they are:

And the last of Red Thorn's babies is actually my first (and currently only) successful attempt at breeding a Tchenarani! He is also a grey bay dun and his name is Valentine. This is him:

So I quickly realized that there is a distinct lack of Persian Arabians standing at stud. There are actually only two of them currently standing and of those two only one is really of any quality. So I decided that I needed to set out on a mission to breed Persian Arabians to help with my Tchenis instead of just relying on other people's Persians.
The start of my Persian Arabian adventure was a mare I named Desert Rose. I kept her with me for a while and she had a few foals, one of whom had a foal of her own, but I wasn't making any progress using these girls and finally decided that they just weren't going to work when aiming for Persians so I ended up rehoming the lot of them. I then adopted two new mares - a dark bay Arabian named Rose of Sharon and a bay Caspian named Mischievous Tune. Sharon has given me two foals and Tune has given me one, and all three foals show promise. Here are the girls:

And here are their babies. All Arabian X Caspians. From left to right: Constellation (bay mare), Colonel Merlin (bay stallion), and Magic Mischief (amber champagne stallion).

Today I also decided to acquire some new blood both because I needed it and to add some color. I purchased this beautiful little filly because of her cremello coloring and her nice height, which I will need when working with Colonel Merlin and Magic Mischief because they are a little bit on the short side. Then I picked up two slightly older Dutch Harness mares (this one and this one) in an effort to add some silver into my lines. Oh, and I adopted him quite a while ago, but I also have this nice-looking Turkmene stallion waiting in the wings. Hopefully he'll still be around when I have some Persian girls to breed him with.

Re: Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
I wanted to add this as a second post as opposed to part of the original post.
Babies from today!
First off, Heart of Gold - a gorgeous grey buckskin Part Turkmene out of Bleeding Heart and by the beautiful stallion PVS Golden Star. She has a 3-star evaluation for the Tchenarani breed, falling a little short in height.

Second, Reaper, a stunning grey zebra dun silver. She's a Tchenarani X Dutch Harness cross and successfully inherited the silver gene that I was looking for. She actually has a 4-star evaluation for the Tchenarani breed, so here's hoping that I can use her to work silver into purebred Tchenis eventually.

And finally, my favorite of the day, a little girl I named Avalanche of Stars. She is my first successful attempt at a Persian Arabian! I'm pretty sure she's a red dun, but Journey looked like a red dun when he was born and ended up brown dun, so we'll see. This little girl falls a little short of the required height for a Tchenarani, but there are plenty of tall Turkmene stallions so I'm not too worried. Apart from height she falls right where she should for my breeding goals.
As for pedigree, she is out of Constellation and by the impressive stallion MGCh. Rh Ω Echo's Avalanche. Her picture is as a newborn because she was just born.

So, progress! Hopefully things keep moving in the right direction!

Lovely horses

Re: Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
Your horses look really nice! I like how you have organized your farm information. I need to stop being lazy and do the same
It would help keep me focused!

Re: Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
First off, thank you guys so much for the compliments, they really mean a lot!
Second:
And finally, Progress!! (And I made quite a bit today.
)
First off, Avalanche of Stars is all grown up and expecting her first baby! She also proved me wrong as far as color - she ended up a nice bay dun instead of red. I went back and forth on who to breed her to but eventually decided on Noble Bird because I wanted to get at least one baby from him before he heads to greener pastures. Whether or not the baby will be worth keeping remains to be seen. Here's a picture of Avalanche in all of her adult prettiness:

I suppose I should have done her first because she's older, but Reaper is also fully mature now. She had one baby already and it was very pretty but it was also a colt, which doesn't work for my plans, so I rehomed him. She is rebred and is expecting her second baby and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a filly. And here she is, greying out beautifully and with a bit of a baby belly:

He wasn't born when I posted yesterday, but Reaper has a drop-dead gorgeous half-brother named Redwood. I thought for a long time that he was going to grey out, but he proved me wrong (thankfully). He's also grown up now, and here he is:

I picked up a very pretty Cremello Arab mare named AZ Baliriana late yesterday. She was about three-and-a-half and already quite tall so I had high hopes that I could breed her with my shorter Caspian X Arabian crosses to get some nice Persians. Well, it turns out that she's actually too tall. Oops! But she's way too pretty to just resell so I'm breeding her to some smaller Arab stallions to get slightly shorter Arabs that are still tall enough to do what I need. Here she is, along with her beautiful Palomino filly named Frozen Virtue (by
AL-ZAEEM):

Next I have another successful Persian Arabian! His name is Dark Of Night and he is the full brother to Avalanche of Stars. He is utterly terrible at anything that doesn't have to do with Stamina, Agility, or Intelligence, and even those he's not super at, but at least he's a beautiful grulla color? Whatever the case, I'm super excited to have bred another Persian. Just look at this handsome son-of-a-gun:

And last, but most exciting, I have a new Tchenarani baby!! It's another colt, which is somewhat disappointing, but just the fact that he's a Tcheni is wonderful! His mother is my beautiful Part-Turkmene from yesterday, Heart Of Gold and his sire is love me, one of the two Persian Arabs for stud that isn't mine. XD The other Persian stud, who I like a lot better, was too short for a successful cross, but this pairing turned out better than I had hoped for. I named the little baby Heartstone and he is a bay-based grey. Despite a red in strength he actually looks to have very nice stats, which was rather unexpected. I am super pleased with this little boy. Here is Heart Of Gold all grown up, along with little Heartstone:

So, lots of exciting developments today! I have a few more things going on before I call it quits for tonight, but I'll post those updates tomorrow. Good night everyone, and Happy New Year's!

Second:
That was the idea when I made this page. Keeping things laid out helps me remember the next step or what steps might need to be redone. I need to re-do my barn layouts, as what I had labeled as the Training Barn isn't really doing that right now, but it's really just a matter of moving out the older horses that I'm not working with as much anymore and moving in the younger ones that I am working on. ^_^Skraythrax wrote:Your horses look really nice! Re: Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
So, progress from yesterday since I was too tired to post last night.
(I would first like to say that if you haven't noticed yet I do like to move very quickly. PX)
Dark Of Night and Heartstone are both of breeding age now. Dark has already been a great sire, but I'll get to that later. Heartstone was apparently attractive to another player and they bred him to two mares but the mares have not had their babies yet. I haven't bred him yet because the mares I want to breed him with aren't old enough yet, but I'm super excited for that to happen. However, he showed promise in Pole Bending and I entered him in a show before I went to bed last night and he took 1st! It was only a level 1 show, but even doing well at the low levels makes me happy at this point. Here are Dark and Heartstone as the handsome young studs that they are:

Heartstone is greying out a bit differently than my other greys have done and I love how it's making him dappled. It looks so pretty with his metallic sheen.
The night before last I was actually expecting another baby from Heart Of Gold, but posted before it was born. She had another beautiful little Tchenarani! This one's a filly. She's a metallic buckskin going grey, just like her mother, and I named her Fool's Gold. She also looks rather promising in Pole Bending and is currently in training.

I also got another foal from AZ Baliriana - a super tall Perlino colt. Hopefully he'll be able to work with my Caspian x Arabian mares in the way that his mother wasn't able to work with the stallions. His name is Chaos Theory.

Reaper finally gave me a filly! The little girl is by my boy Valentine (who I forgot to say I moved to my brand new second account to keep him around a bit longer). This little girl - named Queen Of Hearts - actually has a +10 in her conformation score for speed and a +4 in her movement. Not the best, but definitely really nice for the lines I'm working with. I'm still waiting to see if she'll go grey like her parents.

Bleeding Heart also had another baby, which will probably be her last. She gave me a very nice Palomino Part Turkmene colt. His name is Intricate Chrome and I'm also waiting to see if he'll grey out.

And once again I have saved the most exciting baby for last. This little foal is by Dark Of Night and out of Heart Of Gold and is an absolutely stunning Tchenarani filly! She has a red in strength but pluses in everything else except movement (which is neutral). She has a +7 Tempo in conformation and a 0 in Speed. Everything else is negative but the negatives in balance, movement, and agility are so mild that I don't really mind. Currently she appears to be a non-greying Grulla, but with her face color it is very possible that I just can't see the greying yet. Either way, I'm super happy with this little girl.

And that's everything from yesterday. Now I'm off to play some more and see what I get today. ^_^

Re: Mountain Pass Equines (Tchenaranis :))
So a lot has been going on over the past few days. Here's an update to get everything caught up. ^_^
Starting with babies that aren't Tchenaranis or Persian Arabians:
-I ended up rehoming Bleeding Heart's colt from my previous update. I got another baby from her (a greying buckskin named Usurper) and he was quite a bit better than Intricate Chrome, so I've kept him instead.
-Bleeding Heart has moved on to greener pastures. She will be missed but she has left us with a few nice babies to remember her by.
-Rose Of Sharon also moved on to greener pastures.
-I finally sold AZ Baliriana. Two of her foals (Chaos Theory and Frozen Virtue) are currently working on helping me with Persians while the third (Little Miss Riot) is yet to come of breeding age.
Here are the latest babies. Little Miss Riot (Geysir of Chaos x AZ Baliriana), an Amber Cream Arabian filly, and Usurper (Balkir x Bleeding Heart), a greying Buckskin Part Turkmene colt.

On to Persians.
-Avalanche of Stars just does not want to give me any Tchenis. I've bred her with several different stallions of differing heights and all of her babies are either too short or too tall. It's been very aggravating and with the success I've had with other horses I've decided that it's just not worth it to keep her so she is for sale.
-Dark Of Night, on the other hand, while having some failures, has been much more useful and has sired two nice Tchenaranis, including Viridiana Sovari, the filly at the end of my last update.
-And finally, I have a new Persian colt! His name is Laws Of Magic and he is by Magic Mischief and out of Frozen Virtue. He is a very pretty Gold Cream color. I was actually kind of surprised that this cross worked. I'd crossed Frozen Virtue with my shorter Arabian x Caspian stud (that I no longer have) and the foal had been too big. Magic Mischief is taller than the other boy was, but this colt ended up being the correct height. Go figure. Anyway, here he is.

And finally, Tchenaranis.
-First off, show successes! Heart Of Gold's two oldest foals, Heartstone and Fool's Gold are now both pole bending Champions! Both of them are still training and showing in the hopes of becoming Grand Champions, and Heartstone is passively working on a championship in barrel racing. Since they're both greying, I thought I'd post pictures of how they look now (Heartstone on the left, Fool's Gold on the right):

-Another show success story, Valentine has been showing in Saddleseat while hanging out trying not to age, and he's managed to grab his championship title as well. ^_^
-Viridiana did not show the same show potential as her two older siblings (Heartstone and Fool's Gold) so after working with her for a bit I decided it was better to concentrate training efforts elsewhere. Viridiana is now of breeding age and is currently awaiting her first foal.
-Next, there have been quite a few babies born. The first are two Part Tchenarani x Dutch Harness fillies. Both are greys, both are very pretty, and both are out of Reaper. The first is Queen Of Hearts and she is by Valentine. The second is Rough Concoction and she is by a Tchenarani stallion named Radagast. Here are the girls:

-Heartstone, Fool's Gold, and Viridiana now have a younger sister named Tarnished Copper, and she looks like she had a bag of Cheetos dumped on her. P: She is greying out so she may not look like that for long. She is Dark Of Night's second Tcheni baby.

-And lastly, Fool's Gold took a bit of a break after getting her Champion title and has had two babies. Both foals are by the Tchenarani stallion Nori. The younger of the two (and the less impressive) is a bay filly named Sly Trickster. She was a bit of a disappointment after her older brother, but she's still a Tchenarani and at least she's not grey. This is her:

Her older brother, however, is very exciting. He has a green in Speed!! He also has no reds! Woo! He's a black-going-grey and is currently in training. I call him Loki. Here he is at about 1 year old:

So that's what's been going on. So long 'til next time.
