So, I happen to almost be in a car crash yesterday.

I was driving to Youth Group and so someone stopped at the stop sign but didn't wait for me to go. I had the right of way to go and that other person should've waited for me to go before they had gone. I thankfully slammed on my brake before I ran into them.

Thank you God for making me put my brake on fast enough!

Many of us have close calls... I have a story like this as well. Needless to say, it did give me a phobia for multiple-laned highways for a number of years afterward.
Congratulations on your fast reaction! You survived without even a scratch (notwithstanding the emotional side). It's a good lesson and it will make you that much more of a safe and alert driver for the future.
