Re: Competition project - looking for volunteers
I could help with at least 10 competitions, maybe all 20 if needed. I’m online at least twice a day and I’m not supposed to be super busy for a while anyways, just let me know if that sounds good.BlackOak2 wrote:It's about a week out, still looking for volunteers.

I will be linking the competitions once I get them finalized, so it will be easy to enter.
Let me know if you have a preferred type of competition or level... it's still open to whatever anybody prefers.

Re: Competition project - looking for volunteers
It’s not that big of a deal since I have a bit more variety now, although I do still like racing type competitions because that’s what 90% of my horses are, but level isn’t a huge deal either...maybe somewhere between 5-9? Of course if anyone else really wants a different competition or anything it doesn’t really matter to me since I do have a few heavier horses here and there, but that’s what I’d prefer.BlackOak2 wrote:Thank you!Jasmine_Hanley wrote:

At least you narrowed it a little! The general consensus right now is 'whatever everybody else wants'.Jasmine_Hanley wrote:It’s not that big of a deal since I have a bit more variety now, although I do still like racing type competitions because that’s what 90% of my horses are, but level isn’t a huge deal either...maybe somewhere between 5-9? I will bring everyone together with the finalized competition and level about two days (at least) before I make the competitions.

Re: Competition project - looking for volunteers
I'm up for this, although I'm not completely sure I understand it. If I log on and check comps twice a day when you start, would that be enough? I'm not up for racing competitions as I don't own anything capable of winning any. Barrels, log pull, obstacle driving, anything that suits smart, agile draught horses basically. I've also got a rather nice fully trained mini Shetland cross and a fully trained Tarpan stallion, so that's inhand jumping and dressage covered. And SMGCh. Melody on my side account.

I will need technically speaking, just four things.
To accept transfer of the invitational fee I will send to you (that would be through a horse transfer). Entering two full sets of competitions (20 total competition entries). Then accepting event purse winnings afterward (again with a horse transfer).
In the end, the horse transfers will be the biggest obstacle.
I do know I'm not being very forthcoming just yet with the project. It's huge, so I'm attempting to keep it streamlined until publication. But please do let me know if you want to know more. I'm fine with sharing, but I do also want to ensure that everybody doesn't get confused with this information. As well as myself! Reading it over has in the past made me question my own write up, so I've had to put it on pause a couple times as I worked back through it.

I will provide enough horses for the transfer of invitational fees and event purse winnings, unless somebody chooses to use a horse they no longer want for that purpose. That's also the reason, everything will be finalized two days before I actually schedule the competitions, so we all have enough time to finish transferring and getting appropriate horses trained up if we need to.
I will make the change request away from racing style competitions.
Would Cross Country be a better possibility? Or Show Jumping?

Cross country or show jumping would be good. Horse transfers are no problem - I've got a few I don't want.BlackOak2 wrote:Thank you for volunteering.Parsnip wrote:I'm up for this, although I'm not completely sure I understand it. In a day or two, I'll button this up and start with finalizing it. I'll ping you and the other volunteers so we all know what's going on.

And thank you again.

AmberNW, I will be needing you, so I'm pulling you up to confirmed status from your alternate position. Your sponsorship will be coming from 'Oaken Fields Farm'. So you'll have one additional step to your scheduling. You will have a transfer of a sponsorship horse to cover your out-of-pocket costs for entering the test.AmberNW wrote:...

I am still hoping for one more volunteer.Parsnip wrote:...
I can also do a second horse entry if any of you choose to step up for that. If not... I can use a boarding facility as a necessary volunteer.
Firstly, what I will need from each of you, in order of scheduling.
--> There will be an invitational horse transfer to cover the cost of, not the initial entry of either event but, all concurrent entries into the event test where appropriate.
--> Enter your horse into the competitions of either or both event tests (hopefully both).
--> There will be an event awards winnings horse transfer after the event test runs in full.
So the specifics (I have covered most or all of this already in this topic):
Likely Competition: Cross Country
Likely Level: Level 8
Will be used for both tests, unless there are objections.
There are two tests, an Alpha event test and a Beta event test.
The Alpha test will be set up like this:
Competition #1 (event entry competition) - entry 20000, starting purse 3000
Competition #2 - entry 2000, starting purse 5000
Competition #3 - entry 2400, starting purse 6000
Competition #4 - entry 2800, starting purse 7000
Competition #5 - entry 3200, starting purse 8000
Competition #6 - entry 4000, starting purse 10000
Competition #7 - entry 4800, starting purse 12000
Competition #8 - entry 5600, starting purse 14000
Competition #9 - entry 6400, starting purse 16000
Competition #10 - entry 8000, starting purse 20000
Alpha, you will only be paying out-of-pocket for the event entry 'Competition #1' ($20,000).
The invitational horse transfer WILL cover the rest of the entry fees into the rest of the competitions (Competition #2 through Competition #10).
The Beta test will be set up like this:
Competition #1 (event entry competition) - entry 20000, starting purse 3000
Competition #2 - entry 3333, starting purse 5000
Competition #3 - entry 4000, starting purse 6000
Competition #4 - entry 4667, starting purse 7000
Competition #5 - entry 5333, starting purse 8000
Competition #6 - entry 6667, starting purse 10000
Competition #7 - entry 8000, starting purse 12000
Competition #8 - entry 9333, starting purse 14000
Competition #9 - entry 10667, starting purse 16000
Competition #10 - entry 13333, starting purse 20000
Beta, you will be paying out-of-pocket for the event entry 'Competition #1' (same as alpha), but for this set, you will also be paying a part of the entries for each competition 'Competition #2' through 'Competition #10'. This works out to an additional $24,500 out-of-pocket.
If any of you wish to forgo paying any out-of-pocket expenses at all, I will need to know. I can put anybody or everybody as a sponsored player and use the same sponsorship as AmberNW is already on.
The Alpha and Beta competitions will be run simultaneously, I will host one event and this stable: 'Fox13' will be hosting the other.
I will be supplying the transfer horses for this test UNLESS you have a horse (or horses) you wish to use instead. In this second scenario, I will keep the horses on my account and age them out. No breeding, studding, selling or rehoming. this I will guarantee. Please let me know if you choose to use one or two of your own horses. I will keep all notations on the very first post at the top.
I think I covered everything I needed to. Once you all have seen it, we can start making arrangements for the sponsorship horse(s) and the invitational horses to be transferred.
*******
The below is 'For Your Information', if you want to follow how I've set up the scoring for the event.
Only those in this test as volunteers will be scored using the below system.
Each entrant (volunteers only) in the event will be given points on where they place in each competition.
First place will receive 6 points.
Second will receive 4 points.
Third will receive 3 points.
Fourth will receive 2 points.
Fifth will receive 1 point.
These placements will ignore other entries into each competition. So even if the volunteers pull in 5, 7, 10, 13 and 24th placements, each one will still receive point placements of first through fifth for where their horses placed in reference to each other alone.
Award winnings at the end of the Alpha and Beta tests will be awarded as follows:
First highest pointed horse will receive $45,000
Second will receive $25,000
Third will receive $15,000
Fourth will receive $10,000
And Fifth will receive $5,000
I will define and add the final points placement only after the competitions are all completed, but I will publish the final results on the first page. When that happens, the event award horses can be transferred.
Any questions, please let me know.
Again, Thank You for being volunteers and helping me finalize this project!
