Hurricane Dorian

Post by MerrySmile »

If you think you might suddenly disappear from the game for a little while due to Dorian, please feel free to leave a comment saying so. I thought it would be a good idea to do that so other players trying to get a hold of us might look here to find out if we are just ignoring them or just offline.

I will most likely loose wifi and power so MerrySmile and EternityAwaits will probably be offline starting Monday or Tuesday.

I also may, but I don't expect to be off for even a day.
I do NOT expect it to interfere with my competitions test that's next week.

I am much father inland and north, so depending upon speed, it will be a few days at least after landfall IF I get affected at all.

I'm glad to hear it. I am really hoping by mid-fl that it really won't be that bad.

I don't laugh at hurricanes... but I also don't worry too much about them. Worrying over something that massive and that undeniable is like trying to move a mountain with a matchstick.
The place I live now was chosen because it's in an area that's not subject to much hurricane-style weather.
Straight-line winds can be a problem. But that's about it. :D

Yep, ya do what you have to and then just sit and wait it out. Some people panic and run from the state. I've lived here for almost 30 years and never once left. Not much point. By the time they get where I am they most often are just a bunch of rain...of course there was over $5,000 in tree damage. Ugh. :) But ya know.

We've been living on this world for... a long time! ha! If we aren't used to hurricanes and bad weather by NOW... we really need to get the space age in gear and get 'outta dodge'!
Rather... maybe just send all those that panic every time into space. :D

I used to live in a place that only very rarely had to worry about hurricanes, though we'd keep an on all of them just in case they turned our way. Now I'm on the other side of the country and don't have to worry about them at all. In fact I didn't even know this one existed until one of my friends mentioned something about it. It's so strange not to be notified of every kind-of strong wind that blows off the Atlantic.

Hopefully you guys will be spared the worst of the storm.

I also live in Florida. Kind of in the West middle. Sort of near the Gulf Of Mexico. So, I won't be hit too bad, but I still will be hit and probably lose power. Hurricane Irma was pretty bad for me since it was coming from the Gulf. I was so lucky though that right before it hit me it turned to a cat.1 or 2!! I have been living in FL All my life so I am not too worried about Dorian. I have been watching Fox13 XD!
Yeah, I don't like to evacuate. I stay. The only thing is that I am worried about is my horse (and all my other animals too, of course)! But mostly my horse. I'm gonna tie a zip tie or something to her mane with my address and stuff.
(I'm off topic)!
But yeah, I will probably lose power and such for a couple days but nothing really bad (UNLESS THE HURRICANE BECOMES TERRIBLE FOR ME LAST MINUTE O.O)
XD. LOL I stocked up on a ton of canned soup. I can eat that!

That's a really good point! Since I don't own any animals at the moment, I hadn't thought about that. Good idea with the Zip Tie. I hope your horse makes it through ok. It's not like you can take them in the house with ya or something.

XD! Yeah. Thanks! Hopefully you and BlackOak don't get the worst of it, either!
