Okay, so I'm just about ready to publish a rather involved competition project I've been working on for awhile now.
But I'm a little hard pressed to keep my head wrapped around it, so I REALLY need to do a couple of test runs, to make sure I understand the purse mock-up's and rules I've made.
For rather straightforward reasons, I want to run these tests with horse entries that I don't own and I am hoping to get 5 separate volunteers and not two or three volunteers with 5 horses total.

So here's what I'm looking for:
--> 5 separate players (preferably)
--> 1 horse apiece to enter into a two separate full sets of 10 competitions

What I can do:
--> I can do up to 10 separate players for these two tests
--> I can do separate players for these two tests, but I'll need the same number (so if 7 for one set, then I'll need 7 for the other)

What I want to avoid:
--> Two or more horses per player (these are tests, so I'd like to get a good base number without this variable if I can)
--> A different number of players for these two tests (it would be best if I can compare these as accurately as possible)
--> Players that skip either intentionally or unintentionally any of the competitions (this will impact the test, so if you're unsure of entering any of them, please don't volunteer)
--> Game Newbie's, although I don't want to restrict newbies from volunteering, I have no guarantee that you'll hang about, so please don't volunteer if you're still just getting the lay of the land, I'd prefer players at least 6 months and older

I'm up in the air just yet on which competition type to enter, I can be flexible with what's preferred and even the level, as the level doesn't really matter. For simplicity sake, whatever competition type is decided upon (volunteers can vote on what they want), all of these competitions will take place in ONE level (so if it's sprint racing, then all of the tests will take place in Level 7, as an example). The level can also be voted upon by the volunteers.

The basic mock-up will look a little like the example below:
Sprint Racing - Level 7
Race #1 (event entry competition) - entry 20000, starting purse 3000
Race #2 - entry 2000, starting purse 5000
Race #3 - entry 2400, starting purse 6000
Race #4 - entry 2800, starting purse 7000
Race #5 - entry 3200, starting purse 8000
Race #6 - entry 4000, starting purse 10000
Race #7 - entry 4800, starting purse 12000
Race #8 - entry 5600, starting purse 14000
Race #9 - entry 6400, starting purse 16000
Race #10 - entry 8000, starting purse 20000

Race #1 entry fee is not a typo, this is the entry into the event and at the end of the event, the point system I devised will offer an additional pot winnings to all participants that enter into that first event entry competition. This is above and beyond whatever earnings come in from the basic competitions themselves. If the test proves my work, each entrant into the event will earn back 'at least' 25% of their original event entry fee (in this case, the 20,000 entry fee will be returning 5000).

There's a lot more in it, but I need to make sure there's no kinks left over before final publishing.

I will be running this test a little differently then what I'll suggest SHOULD be run under some assumptions, first, I am expecting to take a loss on these two tests. I'm prepared for that. My mock-up tells me as much. Second, the volunteers are pledging that they will not miss entering even a single competition. Third, I'll run these two tests back to back, to get them over and done with in short order so I can see what I might have missed or what might not add up correctly. And lastly, I can't run these tests until I have my five volunteers. So I'm hoping that whoever does decide to do so, will be able to fulfill the obligation they're promising to fulfill.

As for the fees, the example I posted above will be the fees and purses I will be using.

Now for the difference between the two tests:
One will be the Alpha Class test and the other is the Beta Class test. The differences is that one is partially supported by additional entry fees by the event participants.
Such as, the Alpha Class will actually NOT pay any additional entry fees into the competitions beyond the event entry fee (the money for each successive entry is given to the event participants in the form of the 'invitational horse', since we can't send money to another player yet on HWO). In this case, I'll just forward you the entry fees in total before any of the competitions actually run, this is the exception and hinges on the pledge and promise that my volunteers won't miss entering any of the competitions.
Beta Class, however, will still pay a partial entry fee into each competition. The end purse is still the same as Alpha Class, but there is less potential loss on the part of the hosting player. But with this, I will also forward the total entry fee in the form of the 'invitational event'.

So that I'm not loosing anybody just yet, each Alpha Class entrant will receive $39,200 to cover the entry fees into the event. Each Beta Class entrant will receive $20,833, that covers about a third of the total entry fees combined.

Once I get my 5 volunteers, we'll work on what competition and what level should be chosen. So please indicate what you would prefer, just alpha test, just beta test, both and also the competition and level. Also, if you have certain days upcoming that you WON'T be around (for whatever reason) I can also work around that (really as long as you can enter and get the horse entered and also accept the 'invitational horse', you don't need to be in attendance during the actual test, for obvious reasons).
As a last note, trained horses are NOT necessary, even the same horse, is NOT necessary, I will be running these tests purely on player entry, so also, if you are a volunteer, try to only enter just one of your horses into these tests. If you do enter a second one by mistake, you'll need to let me know which horse I should be following.

I am also hoping and will make note in the competition heading, that the very first competition won't be entered into by any who are NOT volunteers... that will also throw a wrench in my test.

Do any of you need additional details? I can certainly give them, but this is getting a bit long as it is. :D

Hi, I just want to make sure I understand:
You need volunteers to enter competitions for you so that you can do some tests. I would be interested in helping, but I might not be able to help until September 3rd(the next week and a half, I am super busy with fair and 4-H).
Just let me know if I could be any help to you,
Kamichi
What are you actually supposed to put here?

Yes, the volunteers will just be entering the competitions I create.
I will also be sending forth some monies to keep the test formal and keep track of the incoming and outgoing funds (that's part of the test as well), but basically, it's just entering 20 competitions (either 10 or all 20).

I can certainly hold it off until after september 3rd, it will give more time to get the volunteers together and make all the decisions necessary to get this test going.

I'll put you down as an 'expected' volunteer, instead of 'confirmed', just in case something else comes up.

Thank you!

Still looking for volunteers.

This project is designed that anybody that wants to run a larger, more involved competition program can utilize it. It's in a format that will allow uniformity and still offer a certain type of self-expression. Plus I'll be including easy-to-use set-ups that will really only need to be named by the host.

I'd really like to get 4 more volunteers for this so I can finalize this project for the community.

Very first post, at the very top has the test run specifics.

Thank You!

I would be willing to help with this, if I am understanding the process correctly. I am new, but I am here all the time and am pretty dedicated. I would need to do the alpha class since I am still new and don't have a lot of money coming in.

Thank you for the response.
I am hoping to have longer-term players on board. But I am still prepared to accept the help of newbies.

Would you mind being a back-up? If I don't have enough volunteers, I'll utilize you in an alternate position at that point. Plus, don't worry about not having enough money. I can utilize you as a 'sponsored' entrant, which just means, I can use a separate account to forward the entry fees for you. You get to keep all the winnings you may earn. This way I can also test a separate part of this project, even though I don't need to test the sponsoring section. And also, you can be an alternate for both alpha and beta classes.

Actually, if money is the issue about volunteers, I'm willing to sponsor for others as well, but I'll only sponsor in alternate positions and only just enough to get my minimum volunteers I need.
