Losing horses..

Post by ShadowDragon »

I haven't been playing that long but one thing that gets me about the game is how quickly I lose my horses. It's kind of depressing. They seem to grow up and then die off so quickly... In order to progress in the game you have to do the turns, there's no way around it, and with every turn I know I'm that much closer to losing favorite horses that I've become attached to. I know it sounds kind of silly, they're just pixels, but I do have my favorites. Is there a trick to keeping the horses around longer? Would the admins ever change things so that horses wouldn't die at all? Thanks for any insight. :)

What I do is I created a secondary and tertiary account, and when my favorite horses get old, or when I have horses I want to keep a certain age, then I transfer them to that account, and voila. They last for weeks. :D

Oh, that is a good idea! I'll make another account as soon as I'm able to! Thanks for that idea! :D

There's really no way to keep stallions alive longer at the moment, and some horses die off faster than others. But you could keep mares around for a little while by always keeping them pregnant. They may eventually die giving birth to a foal, but they will usually last longer than non-pregnant mares. It is kind of frustrating, I feel the same way when my favorite horses pass on.
But, like Sarah said, a side account will keep them around for much longer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels the loss. It's just really sad to me. But I'll take ya'll's advice for sure. I do keep as many mares pregnant as I can and I'll definitely get a side account to house favorites so they'll be around longer. I wish the admins would consider making deaths obsolete.

The game would be less realistic then. :?

I kind of wish it too, but I also really love how realistic this game is. :D
