Breeding?
Okay so, I've just recently breed an Arabian Stud and a Thoroughbred Mare and I wanted to know if the game works like real life, that if you cross an Arabian and Thoroughbred, would you still get an Anglo-Arabian. (same question goes for crossing other breeds into getting a real life crosses like also being able to cross purebred Thoroughbreds with Quarter Horses to get appendix quarter horses? or Quarabs? and maybe Morabs? (i havent checked if Morgan horses are in the game so excuse me if thats not even a possibility XD)

When you do cross breed there is a 50-50 Chance that it will become the new breed or it will become Arabian x Thoroughbred [50%]
It also depends on whether both horses are the same generation-wise. For Example a AC Arabian, does not have a pedigree, so crossing it with a 4th generation Thoroughbred, will not likely give you the new breed, at least that is what I have found to be the case. Correct me if I'm wrong!

There is a bit more to it than this, however, you're not necessarily incorrect.Sarah32306 wrote:ayhe04 wrote:Okay so, I've just recently breed an Arabian Stud and a Thoroughbred Mare and I wanted to know if the game works like real life, that if you cross an Arabian and Thoroughbred, would you still get an Anglo-Arabian. The way we make new breeds on here are by using a 'horse recipe'.
Under Help there there is a Breeds Wiki. If you go there, you can pull up the breed wiki for each breed that HWO currently has. Most of these (not all) will have a recipe to use to make that breed.
For instance, I'll use the Baladi, this is a notoriously easy breed to create.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/wiki/breed/137
The Baladi requires you to use: North African Barb and Arabian.
By using these two horses, the resulting foal usually pops out as a baladi.
The reason is because that both the north african barb and the arabian share very similar characteristics as the baladi, thus their offspring result in a foal that carries most or all of the traits required to become the baladi and at that point, it's just a coin flip whether it is a baladi or not.
For each breed, there are requirements for the new breed to be created, these are height, size and type. If you're trying to create a specific breed, it helps if both parents are near, or average out within the requirements you're trying to hit. By purchasing the new breed book that you're trying to create, you can breed toward that new breed to maximize your chances of getting it.
There is a bit more to this, but that's the basics.
To finish answering your direct questions:
The anglo-arab is indeed created from the arab and Tb, but the recipe goes like this: Thoroughbred x [ Arabian x Thoroughbred ] Which means one would have to use an arab, Tb cross and cross it back to a Tb in order for the chance at an anglo-arab.
Appendix is also created form the QH and the Tb.
Morgans are also in game and are used with arabs to create morabs.
Quarabs are also created by using QH and arabians.
Let us know if you need more information!
As a last note, pedigree has nothing to do with creating new breeds, only the parents breed and what they carry to pass on. So in essence, if you know what you're doing, you could use a belgian-pedigreed horse that is now known only as an arabian, because you crossed into that breed, to still make the baladi. As I said, it comes down to what that particular horse has and what it passes on.
