Multiple pearl/ champagne/ cream horses

Post by Aliw1995 »

I know each of these horses have either pearl and or champagne and or cream, but I need help on what combinations of these they are and also their base coats.

Presumably dark bay with Cream and either pearl/champagne

Black base with pearl and cream?

Dark bay with champagne and cream?

Cream and champagne on a black base? Maybe pearl too

Champagne X2 Cream on black? Really unsure with this one

No idea - silver may also be at play here

Black base and champagne and or pearl and cream?

Again, silver may be at play

red base plus cream plus pearl? Possibly champagne too?

red+cream+Pearl?

They are all really nice horses!
Also, just to be clear I am no expert in this and might be wrong but here are my thoughts about each one of them. :D

For the first one:
I think he is a Smocky Brown Pearl ( one cream and one pearl on brown)

Two:

Classic Cream ( 1 cream and champagne on black)

Three:

She is a difficult one, for me at least but I believe that she is an Amber Cream with the dun gene (1 cream and Champagne on bay, she also has the dun gene)

Four:

She is a Smocky Cream Champagne ( two copies of cream, champagne on black)
Plus she has a blanket and from what I can see a few snowflakes

Five:

She again is a Smocky Cream Champagne without a blanket and snowflakes (though the previous one was more ....creamy?)

Six: ( This is super LONG)

Alright this colt is definitely a tough one but my guess here is a Cremello Champagne with the dun gene and metallic sheen, which makes the coat shine( 2 copies of Cream and Champagne on Chestnut )

So to explain my answer his Sire has a black base coat and since his ( the sire's) father is a Chestnut e/e and his mother is a black (she could be an E/e or an E/E but I am not sure) that meens that he (your colt) is an E/e since you bred the colt's sire to a chestnut that meens that there is 50% chance of the foal/ your colt to be black based and 50% chance to be chestnut.

We can see that there is definitely a cream gene there and since his coat is really pale we can guess that he has 2 copies of the gene.

Since he is definitely not a Palomino or a Smocky black (if we said that he only had one copy of the cream gene) and not a Smocky cream or a Cremello( if we said that he had 2 copies of the cream gene) then we can definitely say that there is another gene that is playing a big role in the horse's phenotype ( outside appearance)

A Cremello horse is lighter than your colt and I don't see a sooty gene in his coat, and if I am wrong about that his pedigree does not show a sooty gene. So that meens that Cremello is out.

So the other two possible colours that he could be are Cremello Champagne or Smocky Cream Champagne.

The second one is out since a Smocky Cream Champagne looks silver-like (?)that leaves us with Cremello Champagne.

Since Cremello Champagne is on Chestnut and the silver gene does not appear on a Chestnut the horse could not possibly have the silver gene.

If you look closely you can see that the horse has a change in his leg's colour since bay or wild bay coat colour with 1 copy of cream or 2 copies of Cream or 2 copies of Cream and Champagne do not much your horse's coat colour I guess that there is a dun gene since you can see that the roots of the mane are different in colour.

And there is an obvious metallic sheen gene on the colt.

Seven:

I am guessing a Classic Cream on him too with 2 copies of the tiger eye gene , though it is a little soon to tell

Eight:

I would say a Gold Cream for her ( 1 copy of the Cream gene and Champagne on Chestnut)
You can actually name it Ivory Champagne but the Gold Cream is used more often .
Also you can see her eyes changing colour over the years, once an adult if I remember correctly her eyes will be a light shade of green

Nine:

A Cremello Champagne again with a blanket and snowflakes

Ten:

Cremello Champagne yet again.
