As for doing breeding quests, there is this thing.
There are quite a lot of people, I imagine, creating breeds for quests to earn PTs. The recipes call for specific crosses that sometimes are not useful for anything else. When someone has created a breed and has no more use of the horses used for that, they might end up selling them on the market cheaply, and they are proven producers already, you don't have to start anew. I for one am selling "breeding kits" from time to time for a price of 3000-5000 a piece. Checking the market regularly for the specific cross you need or making a wanted ad for them might speed up the breed creating and PT earning process big time.
