Some players do this, but it happens from a stallions side, not mares.

I think it'd be neat. The person would pay more for a mare because the person who owns her has to care for her during the next year and the person who paid gets dibs on the foal.

Temporary breeding leases would be interesting if they could be implemented effectively. More realistic than having a sort of reverse stud service where the stallion owner pays to breed to a mare, which just doesn't happen IRL.
