Crossbreeding

Hello! I'm new to the game and have a question regarding crossbreeding and the creation of new breeds.

I'm trying to breed pintabians, and, reading the breed wiki, was under the assumption that you can create a pintabian by crossing Arabians with paint-Arabian mixes. However, my Arabian/Arabian/paint foal (http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2005027) is not listed as a pintabian, but as a part Arabian cross. Did I misinterpret the breed wiki or made a mistake during breeding?

You didn't do nothing wrong, it happens when breed evaluation isn't 5. For exampel you can breed Arabian and Turkmene and sometimes get Akhal Teke and sometimes just Arabian and Turkmene mix.

Yeah crossbreeding can be tricky! What will really help is going to the bookstore, buying the Pintabian evaluation guide, and then under the evaluation tab on the horse's profile, use the book to check your breeding stock. The results will show you how suitable each horse is for creating the new breed. You generally want horses that evaluate 4 or 5 for creating the new breed. Looking at where each horse falls short can also help plan crosses. If one of your horses is too tall, for example, breeding it to a horse that's on the shorter end of acceptable should net you a foal that falls within the correct height range.

You'll probably get a lot of foals that don't pan out. That's ok! Sometimes the same parents will throw a foal of the new breed, sometimes they won't. Keep trying, and use your breed book to check all your crosses.
